Rota Boost - 18x9 - safe tyres size without rolling guards

I just recently bought a set of rota boost 18x9 +30
Looking at tires and really dunno what to get.

I don't wanna roll my guards for SURE.
I am with teins monoflex, but height I dont mind having it a bit higher if its gonna stop the rubbing (as long as it doesn't look like a 4wd!)

So my question is:
245/40/18 or 255/35/18?
Which one has a lower chance of rubbing?
From looking though the site, it seems like the 255/35/18 has less people complaining about rubbing.

I understand it depends alot on the tires itself...
I'm not after some super high quality tires, so they wont have fat sidewalls like some really high performance ones.

I know i'm safe with 235/40/18, but I want it a bit wider than that if possible!

The tires I'm looking at so far:
kumho ku31
maxxis maz1
(hope someone has used those before with these rims and sizes, and can tell me if they're good or not for fitment issues!)

Any other suggestion 'safe' tyres?

Thanks to anyone that can help

i *think* you are better off with a 255/35. i think the additional height of the 245/40 is what is going to get you into trouble. 9 +30 is pretty aggressive though. all of this is based off of just reading other posts on the forum - so i am unsure if you would have an issue with either. when i was looking at getting 18x9 +29 wheels it appeared taht they were on the very edge of what could be run w/o fender modification. i believe 255/35 was the recommended and safer size for that wheel in terms of avoiding rubbing.

255/35 is your better bet

the tires you mentioned however aren't anything special

thanks for the comment guys.

I'll prob go with 235/40/18 this time around, and see the outcome.
If there's more than enough room, then next time I'll go 255/35/18.
Its not like 1 set of tires are gonna last forever haha

As for my tyre choice... reason I'm going for below average tyres/cheap tyres is its gonna be used as a daily, and down here in Australia, you can't go fast anywhere >< ><

I'll use my stockers BBS as track rims with semis on it so if I do go on a 'spirited' drive, I'm covered haha

But again, thanks for the comments!
