Solution needed! Seibon Cf Cw style hood vent issue!

Hey follow evom members. I'm looking to see if anybody out there has a resolution for my issue. I just bought my 2nd Evo after my first one got totaled 10 years ago by a drunk driver running a red light.

I purchased a Tarmac Black IX SE. The car has a seibon Cw style cf hood. There is a black fiberglass shield on the hood covering the hood vent. I went down the shore on a near 100 degree day and popped my hood and thought to myself... This is crazy. It's scorching hot in my engine bay.. It's got a fully built motor and a bbk full turbo kit.. A tubular manifold.. Ect.. Even a stock Evo from the factory has luver/vent on it to remove heat from the engine bay. So i decided to take it off.. But when it rains and my car is parked at work I have to run back and put that piece back on to prevent the engine bay from
Getting wet..

I need a resolution... I see rexspeed makes a cf insert for their hoods.. I don't think Siebon does? Or do they? Or should I find a used stock Evo hood vent and custom Mount it? What do you guys think? I can't drive around with no vent at all.. Not when I'm parked at work at least.. When I'm home I have it in the garage which is fine.. But I don't want to risk the MAF getting destroyed.. Or getting rust over time..

I'd like to hear from somebody who has been thru this before.. I don't want to put a stock hood back on.. I'm aware of all the comments that could be made about that..

Thanks again fellas. Much respect.

Salvatore

Hey Sal! Have you tried an OEM vented grill yet? I have one if you want to test fit it...

I run the same hood & that plastic frame was junk. I made an alum frame out of .030 sheet (painted black) & attached steel mesh

You can do something similar & add a modified louvered section to keep out the rain. My EvO doesnt see the rain so I have no protection (just the mesh)

Just an idea for you

My hood has only run mesh for the last 8-9 years. Not garaged. Never an issue.
