water temp gauge solution

i got a electrical water temp gauge from prosport gauges and i've been trying to figure out a solution on how to install the temperature sending unit. On the website they have a radiator hose adaptor that requires you to cut the one of your radiator hose and use that adapter in between but i was a bit iffy about it. the other solution that i also heard was welding a bung into something? im not sure what but whatever it is i don't want to make it too complicated as it already is. so does anyone have any other ideas on how i can do this? need to know asap! thanks for looking
