Well I bought some speakers and had a hard time getting these panels off. After some help on here, and a few tutorials who's pics had expired. I thought I would make one to help some of you that may need it... soooo let's get started.

Here's a look at the panel



Here is one of the caps with the screws under them. Pop them open and remove it. There are 2 of these on the door.



Next is the little trap door I like to call it behind the door handle.. pop it off with a very small screwdriver.



Next is another cover to pop off and screw to remove.




Now is the dreaded window crank clip. Now that I have gotten the hang of it it's not to bad. Get the tool. You can use a screwdriver, but this tool is easy if you don't know much about doing this. Place between the window crank and the rubber spacer, the same way you see it (handle down, tool down) apply a mild amount of pressure and then crank the window crank 1 or 2 turns. Keep something cupped around the handle in case the clip flies off, but it shouldn't. Once you turn it 1-2 times the clip should be loose and fall out with a little jiggling of the crank. It will be easier to work with the panel if the window is rolled all the way down after you get the clip off.



Now we have clip out, the handle will just pull right off.



Get your fingers under part of the panel and gently pull until you feel a pop. That will be the where the panel snaps to the door. Go around the whole door and do this to losen it.

After the panel is a bit loose. Pull the handle ( where you pull the door closed ) up and remove it.



when all of the snaps are loose, gently pull up on the panel to pull it loose around the door trim... after it starts to pull loose, remove the trim behind the door handle and lock. This can be a bit tricky and there is no way to really explain it, you will just have to work with it.

Now we have our panel off...


Once the door is off, this is what it should look like behind it...



Cut the plastic out where the speaker will go. This is where the factory harness is located under the tape...



I am using Infinity Reference 6210si speakers. Some people don't like them, but I think they sound absolutely fantastic.


Every type of speaker will come with different rings, these are what the infinity's come with. I will not be using the square mounts that you see.



Because I am not using the square mounts... I want to get rid of them because it's just something else that could rattle, so I take my dremel with a cut off disc and get rid of them.. as you see here.



The Infinity's come with these clips that you see here, but i'm not actually going to clip them onto the holes in the door.



I will be putting them BEHIND the hole in the door like so...


As I am showing.. I have the connectors that I got from crutchfield and I will place them behind the plastic into the hole and bring them down through the speaker hole.



Now they are ready to be plugged in..



To keep the connectors from bouncing around inside the door. I take a piece of gorilla tape ( which is super sticky stuff ) and stick the connector to the inside of the door to keep it in place and quiet.



I have a screw that is not going inside of the speaker hole and is hitting the body so I will cut it off... but first I screw it in a few turns to make some threads for the screw.





This is obviously the cutting off of the screw... make sure after you cut it that you don't touch it for a minute or 2.. it will be very hot, you will burn yourself and I will at you. Hold it with a pair or pliers or vice grips as shown.

Screw your speaker down tight, and do everything else in reverse to put it back together. I hope this helps someone.. Good luck!!
