It would be great if you did a run down of what you did and any issues that you ran into. You also mentioned to me in a PM about reflashing using the Tephra mods

I will be doing a full write up of the job on the MLR, but will also try to make it a reference point for all things GTA. ECU/wiring/drive-train differences etc etc. (will update this thread when I have done it)

Yep, got Tephra's 5.10 [96260009-v5.10fix2-mods] running on my GTA ECU (running manual box remember), The valet part worked okay - didn't try much else, as when I took the car out, I had to change back to my GTA ROM. I must not have changed all the settings over - got 'judder' when on boost (maps/timing - anything else?)

Did you have a look at the pinout? Does it correlate with any work you have done previously?

Hi Sean, I've seen you over on the MLR.

Here is a quick rundown...

Parts required:
  • 5/6 speed manual gearbox
  • Gearbox mounts
  • 5/6 speed Linkage, selector & knob.
  • Clutch pedal & mount
  • Release (slave) Cylinder
  • Master cylinder
  • Clutch pipe work
  • Flywheel + bolts (different length GTA/Manual)
  • Clutch
  • Release bearing
  • Front left drive shaft (different length GTA/Manual).
  • Centre console (front part only)
  • Reverse connector plug

The speedo will not work, as the GTA calculates the speed from input/output shaft speeds. I will be looking into this on my car over the next few weeks and update. This is the only issue left.

The main problem with the conversion is mounting the clutch pedal. The front of the pedal box mounts to the blank on the bulkhead, but the top of the pedal box will not mount to the chassis above, there is a gap. The manual car has an extra bracket built into the chassis. You have 2 options here, remove all the dash, and make a bracket, or, what I had done, brace the top of the pedal box with a large bracket over to the brake pedal mount.

Like I said above, I'll be doing a full write up about it on the MLR within a couple of weeks.

Regards

As mentioned speedo is not working but I plan to rectify this next week.

Gearbox loom modifications:
There are 4 plugs, large black, small black, large grey, small grey.
The large black plug going into your gearbox is the only one we need. It has 2 rows of pins, 4 big & 6 small. The 4 big ones are the ones we are interested in.
The pins are attached to wires coloured: (1)[brown] + (2)[Black/Yellow] + (3)[Black/Brown] + (4)[Black/Yellow]

(1)+(2) are for the reverse light switch - extend to gearbox connector.
(3)+(4) are for Neutral/park sensor - the ECU won’t allow you to start the engine unless in N or P, short these 2 out (or hide a switch in the cabin for an extra immobiliser).

Your GTA dash will still indicate when you are in reverse, and will still beep in the cabin.
