Bolsen's Guage cluster light mod ROCKS!

Hey guys,

Ever since I bought the EVO, I sincerely HATED the dash lighting at night. I waited and waited for a solution, but nothing had satisfied me, until i saw a post from BOLSEN. After his ingeneous mod the cluster is 40-50% brighter than before! NO EXAGGERATION! Thank you Bolsen! You have saved my aging eyes from getting worse THIS IS THE ABSOLUTELY BEST Mod I have ever done!

Click link to see directions.

am i the ONLY one with bad luck or what..
i did everything right until i pulled off the last blue cover and the light went with it.
now when i plug the light back in it wont stay.. so i decided to add some adhesive to hold until i can get a new one.. well... now the ENTIRE cluster doesnt have power except to tell you the door is open.
did i fry my cluster?

This may sound stupid, but make sure that both plugs are securely plugged in the cluster.

actually, I highly doubt it, I reinstalled one of my bulbs in the wrong socket and everything lit up except for that one side, so if anything I think it's your plugs.

damn, thats not a good sign, you may want to see if your fuse is blown. I am not sure which one it is, but there is a fuse box inside the cabin and inside the engine bay. See if any of those are burned out.

no prob! but be prepared to get raped by the dealer. It costed me $4.80 for a little bulb:O I tried soursing it from autozone but they said it was a dealer only item. Did you notice that the ends of your bulbs were brown? all of mine were, which worry me, it seems like there are alot of guys with evos that have burned out dash lights, i dont want to open up and replace every bulb every year. this must be some design flaw, i think it may have to do with the dash guages being "on" during the day and night.

yea. there is a thread with a bunch of people having to replace their bulbs.. i wonder if it is covered under warrenty.. the 3yr/36k probably not.. "you mod your car, and now its has too much hp for the bulbs to work properly, at you rate your paint will start to peel right off" oh how i can see the techs saving that. but i have a pretty cool dealership(so far) so hopefully they can give me a good price on the bulb
