Increase in FP turbo pricing
When did this occur? I am glad that I picked up a used HTA 3582 when I did. Are they using their new center section on all turbos or did they simply bump up prices?
Here is a link to their page...http://store.forcedperformance.net/m..._Code=Turbo-FP
To summarize the HTA 3582 or 86 now cost $2199.

Take a look at the price tag on a brand new Garrett GT35R and then add the cost of their billet wheel and compressor cover work.
IMO Garrett makes the most durable turbochargers out there, so it was worth the extra coin for their HTA3586 over a PTE to me.

It also seems that to upgrade an evo9 turbo to an BB FP Red or BB FP Black is only $200 away from the cost of a new one with out porting.

I think it's a bit of a rip off. The PTE DBB stuff has been performing well enough that FP should be lowering their prices to compete because quite frankly I see no reason to go with an HTA3586 over a new DBB Billet Wheel 6262.

That is what I am saying. I am sort of shocked. I live local to them and plan to not use them in the future with their current pricing. There are other turbos on par with a much better pricing schedule.
^Link above for a BB 6262 CEA is just under $1500.
I can understand the EFR series being so much with the integrated features and SS exhaust housing etc. FP is offering the same old thing (although effective) as far as I can tell.

I was wondering why EVERYONE has been using PTE stuff lately, and it finally occurred to me that they've actually made a reliable, fast spooling setup for nearly $1000 less.

I'm not ready to jump ship just yet. I do agree that PTE does make more power for the buck but my issue with them has always been reliability. So far their new BB turbos seem to be holding up well, Ill be watching them closely as I plan to upgrade in the next year or two.

lol, It's pretty sad you can get a FF Manifold and a PTE 6262 together for $100 cheaper than a brand new FP Red

Inflation. Cost of the parts going up.
Good old capitalism.
Speak with your dollars. There are some that would think its not worth it and switch and there are some that would pay no matter what the cost.
If people start going elsewhere they'll have to change pricing but obviously someone is still paying it.
I am shocked to see they are so much. I guess the whole (its cheaper to get a T3/T4 frame turbo vs the stock frame ball bearing choices is a little harder to justify if you are planning on getting a HTA anyrthing.
