Buying Evo 7
Live in the Cayman Islands and looking to buy and Evo 7. Other than cosmetics any real difference in parts between the 8? Mainly worried about drive line? Going to build motor and flash computer with a turbo. Are they weaker than the 8/9 or all the same?
Ps getting a deal on 7 it is a rally art rs with ac from japan.
Thanks in advance.

Besides cosmetics nothing much. The Super AYC and some are equipped w/ 6 speed transmission (some say 5 speed is still stronger though).
Hope you get your JDM 7 soon. Which reminds me, before have read in a Japanese article. On its initial launch the 8 was disliked in Japan. The pyramid grill was unpopular and was said to increase air resistance. So in the 9 they change the grill again ala 7.

S-AYC was first introduced on 8. And its also the 8 that I'm talking about which some having 6 speed tranny. Oh yeah the Evo 7 GT-A is one fun car as well, much easier to live with & more comfy, and still fast for an auto.

In the looks department I believe the 8 is better but running wise from what I've been told the 5 speed gearboxes in the evo7 are the strongest and well there 5 speeds so less gear changing!
