My car needs to go on a diet

I was curious how much my car weighed and I have nobody around here with scales to weigh it.
So I heard that my local recycling/landfill will weigh you for free.
So i drove out to see and sure enough I pulled up to the truck scales and asked the lady inside if I could get a weight for my car..
Pulled up on the scale and she said 3600 pounds even.

Full weight = Full gas tank, Spare with Jack, Full stereo, Meth tank, Like 15lbs. of tools, + me = 3600 pounds..
So yea, I guess i need to drop a few lbs..
for me, and the car. lol

Wow, that is high dude!

I weighed in at 3450 last year at the track. That's with full interior, Autopower rollbar, stock seats, aftermarket rims and tires and about 3/4 tank of fuel. No tools or anything, maybe that's the difference? I'm about 160 lbs.

Last weighed at 3278 btw; with 1/3 tank of gas. I've took a few things out though...

Sounds like that thing needs to go on a diet. You could remove your spare tire that would save you a few lbs.

Yea, I'm thinking the same thing..
Seems awful high.
I even asked - are you sure?
She looked a second time and said - yep 3600 even.

Now I'm on the search for a different scale.
Nearest track that I know with scales is 2+ hrs. away.

As mentioned, that weight definitely seems high. I have seen a few of those scales not being zeroed when you initially get on it, so I wonder if the lady adjusted for that.

Thats about normal actually... You need to figure the car wieghts around 3300lbs dry stock... Things add up pretty quickly... My car wieghted in 3775 the night i went 11.4@120 stock turbo with all my crap including myself (220lbs).

These guys that are are 3100-3200 are most likely not in the car and have their car spotless with everything they dont need taken out.

Cheers!

it was a truck scale at the local landfill.
They weigh you coming in and going out and charge for the difference in weight.
