Who has a RS for a DD?

Well, I found a white evo near me I want to buy, but I have a little problem. No power windows . So to the people who have an RS, and came from power windows, is it as bad as it sounds?

I have had an RS for my daily driver, all year round, and it's fine. You get used to the manual windows and locks. I did need a radio though. It's not as bad as it sounds. However, it depends on your personality and what your needs are. Ask yourself if you can live with out these things. If not, get a GSR or MR. I knew going into the purchase that certain things weren't necessaties. So, it depends on what you want. Good luck and enjoy the Evo.

I've had the RS as a DD for nearly 3 years now and I honestly don't care for the power windows. If your arms are long enough then opening the right window is a piece of cake. Get yourself a radio and be happy with it! RS's are very rare evo's and you'll be praised by other evo owners for having one

RS is great as DD! I've had GSR SE and now on my 2nd RS. More knee room, simpler execution and looks. I prefer RS. Pwr locks you can install and pwr windows not really missed.

The RS is fine for me, and there were 358 IX RS's made... so it's going to be a collectors car later. I also like that it doesn't have the sound deadening stuff... it feels and sounds more like a race car. I did put a radio in mine though.

Buy the RS, you won't regret it. I've added a radio and an arm rest. Outside of that, I really don't mind doing without the power features.

BTW Thats 6 RS owners responding in a row, that may be a record!

ive had an rs for a few years and dont mind missing all the amenities.
put a radio in it and had power locks added to the front doors only when the alarm was put in, if people are in the back they can roll up the windows and lock the doors when they get out.

hmm i never really thought about installing an armrest in mine. i just usually use a soda bottle to rest my arm on. How hard was it to install??

The only thing that i dont like about the RS is that i always have to second check that everyone locked thier doors after they get out.

ohh yea and the no ABS kinda sucks. i've locked the tires up a couple of times and put some flat spots in the tires.

Had an IX RS...but I sold it.

Had it for just over a year. Before the RS I had a VIII SSS. Didn't miss the power windows in the RS.

I almost want to buy another RS.

I have the 9 RS as daily driver, the only thing I don't like is no power locks, the no power windows I can deal with.

If I had another chance to buy a brand new Evo IX, I would have bought a 06' Evo IX RS in Wicked White. Instead, I bought a '06 IX MR SE. I don't regret my MR right now, but I would have prefered to get the white IX RS. But if I would have waited any longer to get a IX, they all would have been sold. Still no regrets on my awesome MR SE though!

I've driven mine daily since new and down to california and back. The only comfort I wish I had was cruise control for long hauls. The rear windows can be a pain if your in the drivers seat but I don't mind it.
