Short Shifters
Hey guys I was wondering which brand of short shifters are good for Evo IXs? Or are all short shifters the same? How about length wise? Are some short shifters shorter than others? I was planning on getting the B&M one and some polyurethane shifting bushings, but idk if B&M is good or not. Anyone got a short shifter in their Evo? Everything's all bolt on too so shouldn't be too hard to install ah? Lmk when you guys get the chance, Thanks I appreciate it.

B&M and some solid shifter bushings should do the trick just right.

There are several brands of shifters around for the EVO, including BM as mentioned above, Perrin, Authority, Kartboy and Works. Likewise for bushings to be fitted on the shifter console and/or the linkage within the engine compartment. Some people like the results and others feel shifting effort increases. If you enter the brand name or "shifter" within the search field you will access some related info.

The works one is nice. It has the same design as oem with the counterweight. You can choose between two different throw reductions

yea i've heard works is a great brand for short shifters. i'll probably grab that 1 or the b&m.. still deciding. btw did any of you upgrade your shifting bushings to polyurethane ones or no? also heard that makes a huge difference in shifting effort.

And if you have the 6-speed / MR, Works is the only one who makes a short shifter. And they only do the installs at the home office in Sonoma or San Rafael. Fortunately I have a trip coming up.

AGP is good being that a buddy of mine has been using his for quite some time now.......i ordered one as well with shifter, base and underhood bushings......
solid feel and quicker shifts all noticeable

i run the perrin short shifter at lowest setting + all the shifter and under hood bushings. I love it. Very crisp and solid bolt action response with zero play. Because its shorter, slightly more effort is required to shift. Its really not that bad.
