I had the same problem with my OZ. Clutch lost pressure and the dealership wont fix it. I took it to them 2 different times and wont fix it. The clutch had to much free play about 3.5 inches and the book says no more then 2 the max and I told the guys and they got heated with me and told me i was wrong. I read the manual to them. I wasted my time with them. a year later they still wont fix my damn clutch. I have to be very gentle with my car till i get a after market one i guess. Mitsu's products and service on columbus ohio sucks big donkey *****.

Just out of curiousity, since I don't have an Evo, has anyone read posts here that suggest it's not actually the clutch wearing out, but the pressure plate. Granted, while people are replacing one, they're likely to replace both, but from what I've read, I gathered the clutch disc was actually in decent shape and the pressure plate was the problem piece. If that's the case, then approaching it like that will probably help as the pressure plate is not a warranty item - if the clutch still looks good and pressure plate is worn, I should think there's little evidence of "normal wear and tear."

Threat of legal action is probably the only thing that will get mitsu to pull there heads out of there asses. Threat of a class action lawsuit would probably do more.
And mitsu wounders why the cars arn't selling.... hmm between dealer price gougeing and the techline jerkoffs telling the service departments that every problem people have with the evo is a "normal characteristic" what the F do they expect.
Leave it to Mitsu to F up something as beautifull as the evo.
And even worse, if you replace the factory clutch/pressureplate then mitsu has cause to void the powertrain warranty because the after market clutch could overload the powertrain.

You want to give a dealership problem.goto the local DMV.i think a DMV can also revolk a dealerships liscenes doto multiple complaints and law suits.few years back i had a rear end go on me.they said i broke it with only 2000 miles on the clock,and it was one of the big name german cars.they said were not paying i said im complaining at DMV.then they said well have a new rear end in the car in 2 days sir.

Welcome to the world of Mistubishi....what I cannot understand is the how or why they screw over their customers so blatantly. How do they expect to build ANY customer loyalty after all those years of HIDING CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS, and then do the same freaking thing again!
(*By the way...they fully cancelled my warranty, so I make sure to tell everyone how they screwed me over...bad news travels fast Mitsubishi. By the way...you just lost a customer that buy a LOT of cars..hope it was worth it to you.)

They should not be the case the warrenty states-1 year or 12,000. on the clutch against defect,talk to the rep again and read the warrenty to him,the burden of proof that is was neglect is on him not you!

Guy, i'v said it before and I will say it again,don't you guys thinks Mitsu is reading this thread,think about it you can take them to court but all they need to do is show some of these post,GUESS who will win,gota go at this smarter,but look at the flipside how warrenty claim are made and fix and it was clear the problem was due to neglect,not defect,stop thinking so one sided.
