Loud exhaust ticket ?
Got pulled over tonight for a loud exhaust in MA. The ticket is only 50 dollars, so i wouldnt mind paying it, but does this count as a moving violation? Will it go on my insurance?
Im thinking about fighting it, but id lose more money missing a days work to go to the hearing than if i just pay the damn ticket.
Incase you're wondering, its a buschur racing catless 3" TBE with a BR 02 housing.
So to pay, or not to pay....
Thanks,
Josh

easy, tell the judge the officer had trouble hearing you during the ticket giving process so you think he may have developed a hearing problem in the line of duty.
but then he could just as easily come back and say, yeah cause your exhaust was to darn loud
pay the ticket, i dont think its a violation and it wouldn't make sense it being a insurance problem cause loud exhaust can't make you an unsafe driver.

haha, ohh man, yeah the hearing problem lie wont work too well!
So im cool paying it as long as its NOT a moving violation. believe it or not, my exhaust is VERY quiet the way i drive it...I just drove by a cop on boost when i was trying to merge. just a case of bad luck i guess

Exactly... AK47po, arent you a cop? or am i thinking of someone else? I just really want a solid answer as to whether this would be a moving violation or not.
3 of my friends dont think so, but my significant other thinks otherwise....Shes ALL KNOWING...or so she says

** The following are NOT considered moving violations:
a. Inadequate muffler or exhaust system
b. Improper lights or equipment (EXCEPT IMPROPER BRAKES which generates a point)

i noticed that Manslaughter or negligent homicide is equivalent in points to Pre-arranged highway racing or lending car for such purpose
