2 fast 2 furious evo stats don't stack up

http://www.cardomain.com/id/brian_02

At the bottom, it says,
2002 MITSUBISHI EVO
ENGINE: 2.0 INLINE
HORSEPOWER 280 @6500 RPM
TORQUE 215 @ 4500 RPM

I thought a stock evo has 282 lb-ft of torque at 3500 rpm. So does that mean all the mods that've been done to that Evo actually hurt it that much in torque area? Seems a little odd to me.

Contrary to past beliefs, stickers bring torque down.

I saw a preview for the movie before Matrix Reloaded and I swear I saw the L A N C E R that we all know across the trunk. Doesnt that make it a US Lancer with some work done?

Even if it were the Euro spec Evo is more powerful than the US spec in both bhp and torque.

No, the 6 speed is new to the EVO VIII. I have a UK Brochure, and it says the 6 speed is new.

From the UK Mitsu Website:

"The new Six speed gearbox provides a lower first gear ratio for faster off-the-line acceleration with sixth set higher for easier and more economical cruising. "

i think its a us lancer cuz if u look at the back lights in the preview its sharp like the lancer, the evo is kind of straight. and also all the things that make it look lilke an evo could be aftermarket products.
