well having rebuilt a bunch of cars i can say it does not look too bad. pick your repair shop well and you will seriously never be able to tell the difference. as far as it never being the same, i bet baring any bent suspension it still drives like new. this to in my estimation is an easy fix. is it totaled...... more than likely.

on a different topic i found this site from a rally site. there are alot of us rally cars that started life as totals of some type.

best of luck

Car is replaceable. Wife isn't (well, sometimes, but U know what I mean). Glad she's OK.

I can't believe how many scavengers there are on this thread. 1 Evo gets wrecked, and everybody wants a piece of it. Leave the poor guy alone. Think about how ****ty you'd feel if U totalled yours, and everybody talks about what parts they want to buy from it.

Best of luck with insurance and all.

Seriously thank God your wife walked away from that. If anything it shows how structurally tough the EVO actually is and they really mean it when they strongly recommend both hands on the wheel at all times.. Take it easy bishi and hope everything works itself out for you

[QUOTE=bishiboy]My insurance just settled. They said the car was worth $32,606. (minus my $500 deductable), I lost $1500
They also said I couldn't buy the salvage rights. When I asked why and what they would do with the car they said the big boss said it was too far gone for a safe rebuild and they were going to crush it! Sounds very fishy to me . I couldn't do anything about it if I wanted my pay-off.
So I guess that's it!?!? They won't even tell me where it is. I'm getting another one in a couple months. She was going to work down a rural farm road, hit some ruts and the car pulled left, she over corrected right and started to fish tail, went off the road sideways and rolled 1 1/2 times stopping on the roof. Shes ok, only scratches from crawling out. The glass didn't even break. I'll find out in a couple days if it's totaled. IT'S TOTALED Very sad day. I'll have some depressing pics tomorrow.

Bishiboy,
We run a salvage yard in New Jersey with 6 or 7 damaged Evo's currectly in stock. I noticed your quote about the insurance carrier not allowing you to buy back the salvage, and that is strange, they generally do allow the insured buy back rights. As far as where it is, more than likely here or another salvage yard, not crushed.
