Uhhh, so I've never driven a turbo car before (my friend's crapass saab doesn't count), but I don't think that boost is a foot twitch away at cruise. You still have to wait for the turbo to spool up when you hit the throttle.
Just because the car makes max boost at 3000rpm doesn't mean it's at max boost when you're at 3000rpm cruising. The turbo should not be spooled up because the throttle is almost completely closed, causing the wastegate to bypass the turbo.

So let me ask you something.... If you've got somewhere around 300 or so miles on your cars, you have most likely filled the tank already... Also, shifting at the lower rpm's you might've saved some gas....
My question is: How many miles to the tank did you get?? Was anyone keeping track??

Ya 5th gear is awsome on the highway!
I varied my rpms from time to time and once i looked down and it was over 100.... really hard to tell your going that fast!
Plus the gauge needle is really thick and the numbers are close together. o well.
