map ef2.5= worst decision ever
So in February I ordered the ef2.5 turbo hoping it would be a nice upgrade. Got the turbo in march and put it on. 18 psi and 800 miles later the journal bearing goes on it. Map fixes it but I still have to pay to take it off, ship it, and then put it back on. Once I get it back I go to put take it to the dyno for a tune I find out the reason my car ain't hitting full boost until 5500 rpm is cuz the wastegate flapper isn't sealing completely. I preloaded it to the max and it still isn't enough. Wasted another 200 for dyno time and couldn't get a complete tune. Now map wants me to pay to send turbo back again to fix it. I just want my money back and they won't refund it. Paid $1500 for a new turbo that's been nothing but problems.

Wow! That sucks man, Hope you get your money back. I know how that goes when you gotta go thru hassle for something you paid top dollar for it. all that hard earned money. some shops just don't appreciate, what we go thru to mod our cars. Best of luck hopefully everything works out man.

That was on my last evo 8. I have an evo 9 now and should have went green again but wanted to go a small step bigger. The green went 400 at 26 psi with no issues

Plus they stopped the BB option temporarily for the FP stock frame turbos. But the FP Red JB is only like a $100 more expensive than the MAP EF2.5... You probably didn't think of that, did yòu...
I hope you get this sorted because this is nonsense.... You'd expect more from MAP products.

Ive never been a fan of map customer service. Everything seems to be dropped shipped. I had to wait 2. weeks for a set of bpr8es spark plug one time because they didnt have them in stock. Since they didnt have those in stock they wouldnt send out my complete order.
Also a few years ago with the DW300 fuel pump they didnt have in stock. Sold it to me with out saying this went with them since they tested it.

You would think that a company that is on this forum would resolve this before a thread was made.
Hopefully you get this sorted out with them. They should at least pay for return shipping or send you another one to reduce down time. They should also cover all gaskets and fluids that will need to be taken care of during the R&R.

It's not looking good to get much from map. I was just hoping for much more out of that large of a company. I know from having a construction business that I am liable for all the work I do. Too bad map isn't operated that way
