Lean+unsmooth idle on hot start

Cold starts the car is fine but if I drive it for 10 minutes turn it off for 10 minutes then start it up again it idles not to rough but noticibaly deferent. Also the AFR is like 17-18 if I touch the pedal just to give it a little gas the AFR and the idle steadys. Any idea why? Is there something I should log for? Let me know thanks.

I noticed that after my car is flashed the afrs tend to be lean like that, but once u start driving around it will go away and won't do so again when you turn the car back on.

My guess: heat is soaking into the fuel rail. Not enough to vapor-lock the system, but enough to boil the fuel such that less fuel is actually being injected at first.

To test my theory: do everything that normally causes the problem but chill the fuel rail before trying to restart the car. My prediction is that this will prevent the problem

My 3000gt did the same and I think your right but it didn't do it before that's what's getting to me. Would doing a fuel system clean up help? The gas at the base I'm at really sucks! Some people say there is water mixed in because the fuel cell lids don't keep the water out during storms. Ahh I have no idea.

If it's heat-soak vapor-lock, the only solution is to prevent heat from getting to the fuel rail. My 2G DSM had this issue until I put a phenolic spacer between the head and the intake manifold, since the path of the heat was head-to-intake-to-fuel-rail.

On a different site I just had an exchange with a fuel-rail maker who does not believe that the hot-start issues with Evos is vapor-lock (and I tend to believe him). But it's easy to test, so I wouldn't rule this out based on rational argument. Empirical data rule.

My car has been doing this lately as well. I turn the car on first thing in the morning and the AFRs are ok and in check; but when I leave the gym and turn on the car AFRs idle just like in the vid. I It has been getting hot down here lately, so the heat has to be the cause of all this. Once I start driving all is normal again.

I think it's the weather changes that causes this problem, I myself see it happen from time to time with my car. Lately it hasn't been doing it though

Did anyone ever solve this issue? I am currently in the same boat. Its not a debilitating issue rather it is more annoying than anything.

Bringing back from the dead...Any new info on fixing this problem? I've had this issue for the past couple years trying to fix it. I've redone the Throttle body seals, checked the IAC valve, done numerous boost leak tests. It idles beautifully cold but if I drive a few min and turn the car off for more than 5 min it dosent want to idle until I start to drive again then it's fine. I've put ice packs on the fuel rail to cool it down to see if its vapor lock but still dose it.
