Who has actually owned a God Speed Intercooler?

if you've owned one please post up!

I'm tired of searching through all these threads where people say "ebay stuff is junk!"

While I wouldn't expect it to be as good as a high quality part like AMS or ETS

I've had friends run it but they just did Drag racing or pulls on the freeway ..it worked fine for them but I don't consider that a real test.

is it better then stock? any real problems with it?

I can get one for $60 so I think I'm going to pick it up.

Thanks

Please do mot mention The Creator's name in vain. God and EBay should never be combined within the same phrase, duh. What sort of an upgrade can you hope to purchase for a measley $60? For $60 you can't even purchase a high quality prophyplactic device.

i dont know how they compare flow wise but my ETS 3.5 was alot lighter then some ebay 3.5 i had and much nicer quality but thats a givin. I ran a ebay on my dsm and it did okay no heat soak. I think they have ther place project cars, hondas, that kind of thing but a evo is a factory performance car so if your goin to mod it why not get quality poducts.

I ran one of the china i/c's with the stock turbo.. they flow a little more than the stock one, but dont expect it to keep temps down if you plan on doing anything than drag racing or street pulls..

I used a Godspeed IC on my turbo RX-8 and it was fine... but I wouldn't run it on a car that sees track time. Also if you say in your own posts "I'm sure compared to 'real' intercoolers its trash." it sounds like you already know what you will get for your $60.

I seriously don't see the point of your request. No one is going to waste their time to compare all of the variables as to why a "good" IC is better than a "ebay" special. It's an absolute waste of time and effort. Material, channel size, attention to detail and most importantly, quality.. In this scenario you get exactly what you pay for....

I've been on stock ic for a while, and I don't plan on anymore hp increases so at this point I'm just looking at bang per buck and if something can be upgraded to better then stock for 60 bucks why not?

The ic I can buy is comeing off of a car making 512whp on a mustang dyno and I'm friends with the guy, just trying to see data/reviews from actual owners.

My car makes way less power but its tracked regularly.

Thanks for the replys from those that have run similar ics...obviously everyone is too cautions to try one track. If I find data showing that it heatsoaks more then stock then I will probably be looking into buying an ets 3.5 inch

This dyno is from 3 years ago, but we had a customer here who could not make good power on a PT6765 cast wheel turbo kit. We swapped just the intercooler for one of our 3.5" cores and it made a huge difference.

The higher the horsepower the faster the intercooler would heat soak, this one was almost instantaneous.

I don't have any of the data any longer because of how long ago it was, but here is the graph.

Thanks!

Michael

Theres a reason not many people are gonna know about these, cause why would you waste your money on them when there are so many proven options out there for intercoolers. If you wanna go cheap, an intercooler is not the place to do it
