New FP 71HTA?!?!?!

I was on FP's page and I see this new upgrade on their page. Doesn't seem to be ANY info on it what so ever. Has anyone heard anything of this guy? I'm sending them an email on it now...

From what I am reading and understand its simply a different cover which means better flow than stock, I would be interested to know what the flow is as well.

I'm not familiar with the acronym CHRA, does anyone know what it means? I'm guessing its something about the center cartridge?

FP 71HTA™ for the Mitsubishi Evolution 9

We are now offering an FP 71HTA™ turbocharger exchange upgrade for the Evolution 9 cars. Send in either your complete stock Evo 9 turbocharger or the CHRA w/ Compressor cover in exchange for the FP 71HTA™ Turbocharger. Cost for this exchange is $650.00 and these turbos are in stock and ready to go! If you send in your complete turbo, we will swap your exhaust housing onto the CHRA w/ Compressor Cover exchange unit and ship you back your complete turbocharger ready to install.

This is what caught my eye... I sent an email asking for more info. Usually someone has their hands on one before they are released to the public though. I'm wondering what it's cabable of as well...

CHRA = Center Housing Rotating Assembly. It's more then just the cover as it has an HTA compressor wheel hiding in there

It is cheaper than the HTA Green off the rip for the conversion but then the question is do you also at this point need the oil lines and different WGA options etc... the cost could come up in comparison pretty quickly if this were the case.

More info would be great

Well since the green is 73hta and this is 71hta, maybe this one is smaller(?) or perhaps between the green and red? who knows, I'm very curious as well now.

I just contacted a friend who is close with them to see if I can get info straight from FP, it seems like they will be responding in this thread, or making a new thread and provide a link to it here.

Hope that helps.

So if the White is a 68HTA, and the Green is a 73HTA, this must be something for in between? If so, I don't see the need for it really, but the price is gonna be hard to beat as long as you won't need their special oil lines and such.

Quick Reply: New FP 71HTA?!?!?!
