differences between 8 n 9 shortblocks?

differences between 8 n 9 shortblocks?

title says all. What is the differences between and Evo 8 shortblock and a Evo 9 Shortblock. Should i have any problem putting a Evo 9 shortblock into my Evo 8 car

only difference is the oil feed for the mivec on the back of the block. All you need is an adapter to mount the oil pressure sensor there if you want to use an evo 9 block in an evo 8. AMS sells the adapter

i believe the engine block coolant passages are different also?

I have a 9 block in an 8 and just used that port to feed oil to the turbo as the port on the head is damaged. Most likely gets better pressure there as well.

I will be using an 9 shortblock on an evo 8. I need this adapter but can't seem to find it. If someone could post a link that would be great.

It's gonna be a M10x1.25 male to 1/8 NPT female fitting. Just make sure it's made of steel, I tried an aluminum one that snapped immediately.
