Well if it did it after your new engine than maybe a motor mount?

Took the transmission off and started with the flywheel. make sure everything was tight all the way up to the motor mounts. Took 12 hours to take the trans off and put it all back together. But no more bad vibrations.

When were you getting the vibrations? Accel, or de acceleration?

you said "vibrates to my driveshaft" what does that mean exactly and how did you do this diagnosis.

I was getting the vibrations at around 3K rpms with the clutch in and 3.5K rpms with the clutch out. which i figured might be the clutch. which led me to taking the transmission off and finding out that the clutch and transmission were all tight and in proper working order.

The majority of the vibrations was most noticeable at the driveshaft. I found that out by putting the car on a lift and revving it up to 3K-3.5K rpms and tracked down the vibrations to the driveshaft. Well since nothing changed with the driveshaft i figured it had to be before the drive shaft.

If "vibrations at around 3K rpms with the clutch in and 3.5K rpms"
it wouldn't be the driveshaft that would be speed dependent.

It wasnt speed dependant because it wasnt moving when i was getting the vibrations. It was all engine vibrations that caused the vibrations to be most noticeable at the driveshaft.

I think it might have been my rear motor mount. I think it was loose or something.

I have this same exact problem as well, the vibrations are the most noticeable/strong when the engine is revved to about 3k rpms, when I place my hand on the middle section of the drive shaft. I was told by a mechanic that this meant the driveshaft itself needed to be replaced... is this true or do you think by just tightening the rear engine mounts this problem would go away?

the only way to find out if you have a bent drive shaft it to drive the car.... Vibration will be progressive with the increase of speed. I would say the 3k vibration is not a bent shaft. most likely a worn out bushing or mount.

I have the same vibration. I've read Revvin9k's posts on another thread and it sounds similar to what I/we are experiencing.

I have an exedy triple so I assumed the heavy and aggressive clutch was to blame but I come to find out many evos have this 'rattle'. Mine is between 3-4k doesn't matter is clutch is engaged or disengaged but it is most apparent on decel. My car is an 04' with 12,000 miles on it so I know my driveshaft is crispy.

I'd love to know what the **** is rattling but Im starting to think it's the nature of the beast
