Next Step?
I'm so confused...first I was gonna upgrade to a BBK, then I was gonna get big intercooler an meth injection, now I'm thinking cams and a COP kit. I have been spending hours and hours searching this wonderful site to see what the next logical step is to get to my goal. I want to hit 400whp on 91 octane (no E85 out here in Albuquerque) on a dynojet. Do I ned to keep a turbo upgrade on the "to do" list or will bolt on's and meth get me there? My brain hurts from searching and all the threads I find and think are useful are 5 years old and I think the info in them is obviously out dated. So I am posting again, mods are in the sig, goal is 400whp on a dynojet @ 5800 ft. elevation on 91 octane and maybe meth. Please help I can't search anymore!

I think the BBK-Full is still ur best bet unless u mind more lag!! The BBK usually hits 400 on CBRD's dyno which reads low (mustang), so 400 on a dynojet might be achievable considering the barriers you have.. Just add some S2 cams and kick the boost to ~28 to get what u need!
n I dont advice going meth!! it good to gain power, but if something goes wrong then GOD BE WITH YOU!!!

Do smaller mods first that will eventually help support a bigger turbo. COP is a nice to have but in the end won't magically make more power. I say get cams, port the intake and exhaust manifolds, get a ported throttle body. You'll be able to get 400WHP on a Dynojet with the stock IX turbo, your mod list so far isn't bad. An aftermarket intercooler that flows better than the stock one would be good to have.

But won't that require a pump, injectors and an intercooler as well? I want to upgrade to a bbk but isn't it wise to do other things first??

Get an hta green. It's a little bit laggier than stock but I am making 330 whp on a mustang at 20 psi n Hks 272s n bolt ons. I will be makin 400 at around 25 psi on a mustang once I get the cash for injectors n retune.

No u wont!! you'll most likely get 370 @25.. The turbo has already been tested by mellon.. Its almost the same as the BBK.. Except for the better service at CBRD

You are right, if you don't have an aftermarket fuel pump already you really should get one. Even on a stock-ish car it's good insurance. Injector for sure. Intercooler wouldn't be necessary but one that flows better would only help.

We dont bother with COP ignitions on most of our builds....
As fas as cams, turbo, etc..
the turbo will net you pretty decent gains BUT you have to have injectors, o2 housing, and all the right bolt on parts...
we have found that cams on the IX dont give the gains they do on an 8 because you can do pretty well on the stock cams with proper mivec mapping!
you can always send your stock turbo in for a BBK upgrade
pm me if you need any more information!!!
Cheers

I think 400awhp on 91 octane with a BBK Full or HTA Green would be a very tall order, not saying it can't be done but don't expect it. I would step up to a more powerful turbo like the FP Red or Black to give you a much better shot of obtaining your goal. Obviously you need the supporting mods to go with it.

If you haven't done so, get a Walbro and upgrade your injectors to at least 880cc or higher. My goal is the same as yours. I'm currently at 350 but I think it's because the clutch is going out and not holding due to it's the stocker. Going to upgrade clutch to Fidanza 3.2 and check for boost leak this spring then get another dyno tune again.

I would first replace the megan exhaust mani with a ported stock mani and go with either a sheaer o2 dump or one of the MAP o2 dumps instead of ebay o2 housing. Get a walbro, ported intake mani, and throttle body. Stock front mount is fine for 400whp. I would also get some PTE 1000cc injectors(will idle same as 750 or 880). I would probably find a used FPred and your set.

EvolutionIX, have you talked to Cameron about this? I will soon be doing this also, I am probably going to do in this order, Cams, fuel pump, injectors, then turbo(not sure which one yet). im up in Los Lunas hit me up some time.
