Trying to install oil pressure gauge.
Hello,
I'm trying to install a oil pressure gauge , but the oil pressure sending unit is located
above the transfer case , from the look of it , is gonna be a PITA to get access to
it, not only that it needs a special tool to remove the sender.
Is their a way to install the aftermarket sender unit without touching the oem oil sender
unit?.
thanks.

dont know where its at on wrx but on an evo you attach it to the oil filter housing or use an adapter kit.

Tap it off the oil filter housing. Use a AMS stainless line to isolate vibrations.

^ +1 to the ams stainless line. You can tap in for the line on the filter housing you'll have to remove your filter to make it easier..

lol... either does the trick. That is where the stock sender is though i believe, but a lot of the units call for you to tap the hex head place or there is another spot on the right side of the engine just below the intake cam

You may want to look into this for the oil filter housing. I tried local places, and the threads just wouldn't work. Even though they said 1/8npt it still wouldn't thread in. This worked perfectly for me.

There is an allen keyed plug in the oil filter housing that can be removed and used as a tap in to the oil system.
I have a picture which, I'll upload later tonight.

Def use a remote hose or your sensor will probably die pretty quickly.

I just went to napa and bought a 3/8 bspt to 1/8 npt plug and put in place of the 8mm allen plug on the oil filter housing. Doesnt get much easier than that.
