Another ACD thread...Sorry guys.
So here's a little back story for everyone.....I drove 3 hours to pick up an 05 Evo SSL for 14K. I though wow...what a motha effin deal. Anyways, I get there, and as soon as I drive the car, the 3 lights are on, but the car drove absolutely fine.
So...I talked to the seller, he said I just need to bleed the system and change some kind of banger bolt that is "on top of the transfer case/behind the motor." He reasons 99% of Evos with ACD problems have that specific leak.
What I need to know--
1. Does anyone know if that really is a common leaking problem....or was he just trying to get rid of his car?
2. How do I check the ACD oil level?
3. If it's the sensor...is there a way of knowing without diagnostics at Mitsu?
4. If it's the pump...is there a way of knowing without diagnostics at Mitsu?
5. Do I have to diagnose at Mitsu, or any mechanic will do?
Guys and gals...any help will be greatly appreciated. I still love my Evo...but I just want to get her nice and healthy without breaking the bank, ya know. Thanks in advance.

excerpt from acd sticky at the top of this forum which you should have read before posting
D. ACD unit fault – 3 solid lights
When your ACD unit has all three lights on at the same time (other than at startup), this means your car is reporting back to Mitsubishi headquarters that your warranty should be voided… Just kidding. As stated in your owners manual, this denotes some kind of error in the unit and it needs to be serviced. To service the ACD you need a very special, and very expensive tool from Mitsubishi. This tool is used to engage the ACD pump to bleed the lines. You may run into this issue if you are changing out your transfercase. (6)
what this means to you: you can't bleed the system yourself

Yea...I did that. My buddy has a shop, I just talked to him, and he can bleed it with me...however, I don't want to bleed that system if it's not the problem. I just wanted to know if anyone can point me in the right direction in order to isolate the problem.

acd lights
I had the same problem, i did bleed the system and the lights still came on. I took it to the dealer and they said that they had to bleed the system before they do anything else. They told me if that works ill have to pay $150 but if it doesnt that they will replace the pump under warranty.
