2nd Gear clunk?? (yes, i searched)
searched around nd couldn't find anything.
i have a gg evo IX with 17,800 miles on it. bought it a few days ago. nd i've noticed going into 2nd the gearbox kinda like clunkss. not so much a grind but it doesn't go in as smoothly as the other gears..
does anyone experience this? its not that bad like if im banging through the gears u don't feel it, but when driving slow nd shifting very slowly its noticeable.. is this normal? i was thinking maybe changing the tranny fluid nd see how it feels.'
any suggestions?

what kind of clunk? do you feel it going into the gear, or when you are letting out the clutch and engaging it? WOT or gentle driving, or inbetween?

gentle driving. i feel it go into gear but before it clicks into gear u can feel another little like rough spot but it doesn't do this for any other gears. wtf could it be? i keep telling myself its not a synchro lol.. the tranny fluids never been changed. i think this weekend im gunna take a little time nd change it. see if it does any good.

I would say its normal my car has done this since day one. After putting in some ams underhood shifter bushings it def made going into second smoother with a better feel and changing your fluid will help slightly too. (amsoil ftw)

do you have a 6 speed or 5 speed?
5 speed amsoil is MTG - https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mtg.aspx . I have also heard amazing things about it which is why it is going in my trans this week.

You also might want to adjust the clutch as well.

to the OP or anyone really.
similar problem in 2nd gear, when i try to shift it feels like i am fighting something, even when the car is not moving. WEIRD! the gear is notchy when cold but gets worse when warm.
i change fluid regularly and i hardly doubt its my g-box - i never launched and i only drive the sucker hard once a month (only 20,000kms).
i have a feeling its my shifter base bushings or underhood bushings.
