So i just purchased a 03 Evo 8, and i'm have function in the blower but the cold to hot knob tightens only when i'm close to max heat, but still no heat, i've read about a gear function that may go out somewhere in the foot well area by the gas pedal. where/what exactly am i looking for and will i be able to see it? and with the t-stats, if i do replace that should i do a coolant flush and place new coolant to water combo ? if so what should i do 40/60? 30/70? i do live in alaska. and winter is coming.

As for the antifreeze mix you need - buy a jug of antifreeze and look on the side of the jug for the coldest temperature you expect to ever experience this winter and use the mixture they recommend.
