the Synapse looks universal, is it a breeze to install? Hows the driveability, I most likely will stick with the Forge or APS

I run the Synapse at 30 psi, stock turbo. Runs great...in my opinion the best DV out there.

Have the stock VIII valve and it holds whatever the compressor has to offer (has seen 32+ psi). I had to severely modify the part though. I drilled a hole so the port feels air below the diaghram and placed a 3 way, 2 pos solenoid in-line. The solenoid is driven by the existing IC spray relay and I set the flash tables to energize just below WOT and de-energize at half throttle. This basically makes the valve slam shut and lock out when needed and still maintains drivability with normal driving. It won't boost over 20 psi when I have the IC spray switch off allowing one more feature - a failsafe that de-energizes the solenoid with knock sensor activity (tephra patch)

I've seen lots of good reviews (holds boost, no flutter) on the APS, but many people say it requires periodic disassembly and lubrication. I've seen many good reviews on the Synapse as well. No mention of needing maintenance, but it is a physically large unit and is somewhat of a challenge to fit in the stock BOV location (in recirc mode).

I recently installed the Synapse unit and have been impressed with the way it holds boost. Previously used a crushed Tomei BOV. I need to put it on the dyno again and have it checked...Bryan?

I've never seen any brand of BOV work as well as the Synapse unit. Why? Because the Synapse unit is completely transparent. It creates no drivability issues, is so fast that it is virtually inaudible, and cannot and does not leak under pressure. I've seen leaks and glitches with many others. With the Synapse piece, I just installed it and forgot it was even there. I can't ask for better than that.

I've been watching the BOV market for quite some time and reading reviews, and the Synapse is the one I would get too. Seems like it has excellent all around performance and at a great price.

Depends on what application you use it in. Are you basically a stock setup or do you have a hardpipe for a UICP? For basically stock set ups you will require a recirc 1.25 inch adaptor piece to plumb it into your UICP hose. I tye wrap all the hoses and a "T" fitting is required to plumb into the boost signal line from your turbo outlet pipe. This is the one that goes to my boost control solenoid.
