youre misleading people by the way youre coming across (if its on purpose, i dunno...i know you had a bad experience). the way youre coming across is pretty much this. youre like "i switched out ets' crappy 3.5" intercooler to a garrett 3.8" and i made 30whp. everyone else should do the same"
and maybe they should run larger than a 3.5", not for me to decide.
BUT if you were to say "i switched out the crappy 4" ets core for a garrett and made 30hp" then you would have legit cause to call the ets core crap
thats all im saying haha

i understand how you could see things this way especially since all the pissing going on in this thread. just for reference this is my first post in this thread....
"The overheating myth is an ets thing, it's their excuse for you to buy their core because they make more money off it. They say the fin density is to high to allow enough air to pass threw, just a bunch of bs.
I ran a Cbrd core at Englishtown road course in 92 degree heat all day with the stock radiator and had absolutely no problems at all. I also daily drive my car with no issues what so ever. I picked up 29whp/19wtq switching from am ets 3.5 inch to the Garret 3.8 inch Cbrd core and they day we switched it was hotter and more humid then the day we tuned with the ets"
i only addressed the overheating bs that ets misleads people with, i simply state that i switched from an ets core to a garret core and made power. i never claimed i did a back to back test once in the thread, i never claim to be an intercooler guru, all i do is share my experience from swithing to a garret core. how am i misleading anyone if anything im confirming that the garret core will make power and did a better job then the yes smaller 3.5 in ets core but its all fact and not misleading, i am actually helping them make that decsion to run a larger then 3.5" in core. not untill ets singled me out and started posting directly to me did i start defending my claim and this whole mess started.
thank you to dave buschur for posting and supporting the propper cause. i respect shops that choose to do things the rightway, the first time, the only way its how business should be run.

I don't know what ETS's products sell for to be honest. I don't pay atttention, I actually try to ignore ETS all together to be honest, makes co-existing easier.
I did miss one other thing I wanted to say, over heating in EVO doesn't happen. DSM's, there were problems.

I was referring to anyone beyond drag racing. road race, etc.
I am talking to david on his own forum - mainly about drag racing. I was just curious if anyone ever in other aspects of evo abuse - have had an evo overheat due to lack of airflow.

To be fair if you are comparing a ETS 3.5 to Garrett 3.8 then a comparison of the Garrett 3.8 and the ETS 4.0 would be fair....esp since ETS offers both for the same price.
I am not partial. I just ordered an ETS 4.0 from a vendor but didn't realize they offered a Garrett for the same price or I would've opted for that. Honestly they seem to flow the same but the Garrett would've fit with no issue at all and the 4.0 ETS will require a "slight" mod.
After reading this thread I contacted the vendor I ordered from but it was too late to switch to the Garrett core as the one I originally ordered is already shipped and I don't want to get charged a restocking fee.
The conversation is good minus the personal attacks. Has anyone tested a 3.8 Garrett against a 4.0 ETS.....that would be a fairer comparison.

^^^ i hear you but if its not fair to compare a smaller ets core to a larger garret one. why is it fair, or better, to compare a larger ets core to a smaller garett one.
that alone tells you everything you need to know about the comparison between the 2.
unfortunately they dont offer a core size that is the same except 3.5 so thats what we will have to settle for an actual 'good' test. someone could step up and show some reults that would be usefull info for all.
