Whining noise after belts/cam install

I just finished installing some S1's and new Greddy timing belt, balance shaft belts along with a Dayco serpentine belt and pullies.

When revvng the car a little it sounds like a blower almost. Kinda of slight whine and increases with RPM
I took off the top cover and it seems to maybe come from the upper timing belt area
My friend says is sounds like a 1G DSM. I remember this from one of mine too, almost like an electronic type whine if that makes sesne.

Dunno if the belt is too tight? feels like it should to me. Or maybe the kevlar belts, or cams making the whine?

Suggestions?

That's the sound of the turbo spooling up - it's normal.

I just put on a new serpentine belt tensioner and a gates serpentine kevlar belt. It makes a slight whine like you describe. it might just be the nature of the kevlar belts. Their stiffer so maybe that makes them louder is what I can think, idk. High rpm in 2nd gear is when I notice it most for me.

I had a noise like that after my last cam install with the stock belts. It went away.

cmon dude. are you being serious?
I know what a turbo and even more what my turbo sounds like at spool.
this almost sounds like a belt tension thing or a pulley whine or something

so you guys think I should just try and get some mileage on it and see what happens?
I never ran kevlar belts before. Also I didnt test deflection to be honest. Im not gonna lie when I say its pretty taught

I have the Gates Racing belts... the nylon coated teeth on the belt engaging with the sprockets make that whine. Not sure if your belts have the nylon coating on them or not. Was really irritating at first, but now I couldn't go back to the silence of OEM.

how long you been driving on it like that?

Any ill affects of having the belt a little too tight? To me it feels fine and on the tighter side, but its kevlar too, so it wont flex and deflect like the stock Im thinking

I had the same sound when i replaced my oem timing belt for a HKS one. Sounds like an over tensionned belt (check and recheck my work ), the sound is now gone ( 1000 mls after).

i would recheck the tightness for sure,it might be too tight from what it sounds like.i ran a kevlar belt once, like you said it doesnt deflect like the stockers, what it did on my car was pull up on the oil pump gear and wear into the oil pump housing causing a massive oil leak.needless to say i replaced the oil pump along with an oem belt.was golden after that.

Definitely check the tension. You can lose the oil pump if you run the timing belt too tight.

well I pulled the covers yesterday and checked the tension and the tension seems a bit looser then before. I didnt touch anything though, so it prob stretched a litle from driving.
It still makes the noise though.
When rotating the crank by hand it makes a funny noise kinda too.
So Im thinking its just the attributes of a kevlar belt.
I dunno what else to think?

Any other suggestions?
Can I start it without the accessory belt on to see if its that belt maybe making the noise?

You can start it with the accessory belt off.

i guess Ill try this tonight to see if its even the Timing belt whining.
i wasnt sure if it would be a good idea with the water pump not running and the alt not running.
I guess anything is possible at this point.
I dunno what else to check. When I rotate by hand though it make a slight noise like sticky sneakers on a surface, so it sounds to me like its just because of the material of the belt?
I know I have great analogies. lol
