tcase fluid change help

I was told at the mitsu dealership that I need to use a scan tool to change the fluid in my tcase due to the ACD. Is this true?? Or can I just change the fluid and go on my way. I have drained it but have the DIAqueen to put back in.

noooo, i just got done doing this on my 9 ... just drain it, put the drain plug back in..

Crack the bleed screw open, turn the key on but dont start the car,
push the gas pedal to the floor for a few seconds. You will hear the
acd cycle or whatever it does. Turn key off.... You may have to do
it a few times.

ACD and transfer case fluid are two totally seperate things. Transfer case fluid change is as simple as draining and refilling just like the transmission and rear differential. You should be using a GL-5 in the transfer case such as Mitsu DiaQueen 90W LSD (same fluid that goes in the rear diff). The ACD systems uses a Mitsu ATF fluid and must be properly bled and not just drained and refilled. ACD fluid is not considered to be a routine maintenance item though so unless you're having a problem with it or drain it during a clutch swap there is no need to perform this.
