I honestly think it is his MAF. We can switch it over to SD if you have a JDM 3 bar laying around to through in it to test?

Thanks man. I appreciate your help. Will be talking to you shortly

is the tps voltage ok? i know you said you checked temp sensors, but a bad ect will make the car run rich. it has to be sensor/electrical or computer related cause the ecm doesn't know that there is too much fuel physically going into the engine. it just reads the parameters and the voltages of the sensors/wires. are the plugs really black? how long before they get fouled out? timing is good? no misfires? how wierd. it's obviously not stock so the computer is overcompensating or wigging out from what it is seeing. maf voltage was ok? how many g/s was it flowing? arrrrgh...... good luck guys.

Yeah, Chad rescaled them many times. We even put stock injectors back in and still had the issue.

Drives: The 11 second shopping cart.

I solved mine. Assumed O2 initially so I ordered a new one, wound up not changing the way car ran and while logging I realized the new sensor was not working. Ordered a second new one and it worked fine, voltage reading was good, but still the problem persisted. Bought a replacement MAF and while waiting for it I put my MAF in a buddies car. His car ran fine, for the short period it was in, so I assumed MAF was working correctly. On Saturday I decided to put the replacement MAF in my car. Didn't drive it until Sunday evening in order to fill her up, so the gas guzzling could continue. Start driving down the road and I realized it had stopped running pig rich and sputtering. Put gas in it and went for a cruise to make sure it was good. Car has been fine ever since. I shook my old MAF next to my ear and I could hear something very small rattling around inside the case. Figure something broke in there, no idea how but I am once again a happy Evo owner.

Yeah, I know CBRD tied another MAF but I really think it is his MAF. One way to tell is to switch to SD!

You got me thinking Zach.

Chad said your car wasnt driving all that great with the SD. UH OH, hope i didn't get the Disney channel taken away or cause a fight.

I would spend the cash to change to SD if I was 100% it would work. Hate to keep investing $$$$$$ and not be the problem. I guess that is problem solving.

Maybe I should invest in a GM boost solenoid, IAT sensor and JDM MAP sensor very soon

SD system is working great! There are minor issues with some cars but nothing major that will stop your care from running or not running safely. I need to make a trip down to Chad's to show him yet which I promised I would do but time isn't something I have a lot of right now.

It shouldn't be more than 250-300 to get all of the tools needs to migrate over to SD. Have Chad IM me or text me and maybe we can work out a deal on your car to swap it over at the shop and we can all work to try and fix it?

Looks like Mike@AWD has a special on a OMNI 4bar MAP/IAT senor for $175/shipped.
