I gather from reading the opinions on this and other threads that of the two turbos(HTA Green vs. BBK-Full), the BBK-Full is the better spooling choice. But, there are no comparative boost logs out there, or are there?

I've got a BBK lite on a stock VIII engine with HKS 280s. First time out I ran a 12.5 @ 112.5 at 23psi on 92 octane. AFRs and timing were pretty conservative. Being the first time I'd ever driven an EVO at the track I was pretty conservative on the launches - I think my best 60' was high 1.7s (I'm used to pulling mid-low 1.6s in the Talon). This was also through a high flow cat and the air inlet temps were hitting 126F.
Since then I've put on a testpipe and fabbed a cold air shield which dropped temps to a few degrees over ambient, this allowed me to raise the boost to 26psi on 93 octane with some more timing and slightly leaner AFRs. I'd expect it to see 11s as it sits based on how it pulls compared to before. Bear in mind I didn't build this car to be a drag car, I've been down the road of fast DSMs and big laggy turbos got old, I just wanted something that spooled like stock with a little more kick up top and this setup is PERFECT!

keep in mind, the LITE is JUST the compressor upgrade..... not the upgraded turbine also
it spools almost ridiculously fast hee he, i actually prefer the FULL because the lite is hard to modulate at part throttle!!
cheers

I've been reading all the threads and I still think the BBK is the hot ticket. For one, FP has a very hard time delivering their product. For two, there have been far too many reported green and red failures. For three, the newer green and red are no longer stock appearing turbos .. the intakes are huge. For four, the standard green isn't much better than a stock 9 turbo and the stock appearing red has compressor surge like no tomorrow. Lastly I fee anything bigger than the BBK should require a built motor.

Here's why you should buy a BBK. This thread was created 1 month ago, and we still have seen only ONE HTA-Green dyno graph. Where are all the others? In the meantime, BBK's are available and the performance in the real world is going to be damn near identical, yet the BBK will cost less.

This standard of performance is now improved into the "perfect pump gas turbo" with an increased power capability, greater efficiency, less turbine back pressure, more options for wastegate opening pressure, and all of this with FP to back up the unit for the length of the warranty.
This unit features the 54lb/min 73mm HTA compressor wheel and a new 65mm revision of the high efficiency 67mm turbine wheel used in the FP Red™ for the perfect combination of power and rapid spool.
this is info i found on fp web page ...
im not against the bbk , or against fp hta green , i would just like to see some results on these turbos
i have no intention in offending any bbk owners ,

Little. Blue. Different. CBRD BBK + MAP Port/coat
CBRD BBK dyno results thread
There's plenty of "results" in those threads. I would maybe also reccommend shooting some PMs to BBK owners for their opinions (if they're not posted) and also speaking with Chad. The BBK might not be the turbo for you... it just depends on what your goals are. We don't allow clients to purchase directly through our website as we want to make sure the BBK, and CBRD for that matter, are a fit for our clients.

A local BBK guy made like 425 or 430 on a Dynojet uncorrected - I would imagine that's enough for 11's
