This is what happens when you think all turbo kits are the same....

A kit - is a "kit". It works as a system. Every manifold, turbo, O2 housing, and downpipe are a little different. A change in one part typically has fall-out in the other parts of the system.

AMS uses 5 bolt turbine housings with the wastegate routed in the O2. The 5 bolt turbine housing has the wastegate port in the housing. The 4 bolt doesn't - it has to be used with a manifold mounted wastegate.

You have three options.

- Put the .63 A/R 5 bolt from your 50 trim on the HTA 86, if it fits the turbine wheel.
- Buy a new manifold, O2, and downpipe.
- Modifify the AMS maniold to add the wastegate, and build a new O2 housing. It's not entry level fabricating and it sounds like your shop isn't too interested.

If its a .63 A/R on the 50 trim wouldn't it have to fit the hta 86? I could of sworn someone on here is running a .63 a/r on the hta 86.

The AMS 50-trim runs a Precision .63 A/R w/ 5-bolt housing. This housing will work on your HTA3586.

It will ONLY work after the housing from the 50trim(t31 turbine usually) is machined to fit the larger gt35 turbine. Probably better to just buy a turbine housing already machined for that wheel from PTE. Would be quicker and similiarly priced most likely..

The thing is i don't thing they make a 5 bolt 82r housing. So if the ams 50 trim has the precision 62 ar 5bolt housing, isn't that pretty much what i would get anyway? I have been without my car for 7 months if the ams 50 trim housing works im going to use it. I rather not wait another week or longer for something that is the same thing. Are you 1000% sure it will not work unless machined?

What Im trying to say is that it wont. AMS uses a PTE .63 housing with every turbo they sell in there kits. BUT the Housing has to be machined to allow the larger diameter wheel it go inside the volute.

Ah that sucks then . I was thinking that the exhaust wheel was the same as the normal 35r's. And just the compressor wheel was bigger on the hta 86. Oh well i guess ill have to see what i can do then. thanks though .

Call up PTE and get a 5bolt ford style .63 for a 35r or 6262. The solution is very simple to this problem.

Simple. Call FP, tell them what your problem is, and ask them to suggest the best solution. Just because they don't list a certain hot side does not mean that they can't find you one, or maybe machine yours to fit...

FP stated on their site using anything under a .82 hotside on a HTA86 will be a total waste and quite stupid. Would of been smarter to get the 3582 with the .63 5 bolt hotside for ams turbo kit or send out your current 35R
