I was wondering what a clean, complete evo ix short block sells for. (with pistons rods, ect) I am considering going to a 2.3l and have thought about just buying a built short block and then selling mine, rather than just shipping mine in to avoid the core charge.

a built shortblock from most vendors cost about 3-4K, depending on options and displacement. But most require a core or there is a core bout charge of 1300-2500, depending on vendor.

If you are just trying to find a good stock short block you can build into a built motor or use as your core when buying from a vendor, is about 750-1000, like stated above.

I think my post was a bit misleading. What I am wanting to know is how much could I expect to sell my stock 70k mile evo ix short block for? Basically, everything except the head. 750-1000?
