Yes, the car was down for 2 years, but it only took me about 6 months of work on the weekends to finish it up.

What's up with the AMS VSR? I thought it was pretty good.

Yes they were. Unfortunately we wouldn't be able to see any results in changing the settings since I was road tuned.

The HTA82 car I rode in had the VSR on it and the owner/tuner of the car told me it was totally killing spool as well. It may be great for drag racing, but not a great street/road racing IM IMO.

I find that pretty hard to believe. My car spools fast as **** and I have the AMS race IC/Piping, AMS VSR and Ams turbo kit..and I'm pretty sure my car is spooling faster than 99% of all the other 6262 and making the same, if not more power =) I love the VSR and will soon upgraded to their new one.

your car is deff spooling much faster than all the 6262s i have seen out there
but its not carrying power up top as well as others , i suspect that maybe due to the .63 5 bolt that the ams kit uses ..

Ya, it does suffer on the top end but I 99% drive the car on the street since every track is 2+ hours away so I enjoy the fast spool. I look forward to checkin out that front facing kit you have at the shootout and seeing Yosolo also!

My car spools pretty fast to me. Boost comes on at 4500rpms and it hits hard. I am running the .82 backside on my 2.3L. I am really happy with my setup.

I know I am bringing this thread back from the dead but I think I owe everyone an update.
Everything was quite hectic with setting up the tune as well as preparing everything in order for me to transfer to Okinawa, Japan during the completion of this project. I didn't really give the attention to the community that everyone was waiting for.
Shortly after I got the car tuned I blew the rubber grommet that sits on top of the fuel pump and seals the pump to the sending unit. So with that I completely loss all fuel pressure. I ordered three of these suckers from Mitsu and not one of them would seal in my sending unit. They were all a tad bit smaller than the one that was in the car. I thought maybe they were spec'ed incorrectly by the manufacture, but after comparing the stock pump to the Walbro, I assumed the problem lies with the shaft diameter difference on the output of the pump.
The Walbro pump comes to a nipple with a smaller shaft than the stock pump. The stock pump is a larger size the whole way down. I suppose if I run a stock pump for a while it would eventually cause the grommet to expand, but I am done with the stock sending unit.
So with all that, I plan to change my fuel pump setup to completely eliminate the need for that grommet. I don't want to chance blowing the seal and running 13.4:1 AFR at 8000 rpms again!!!
Right now I have the car running only on the external pump. As soon as I get back to the States I will get this taken care of and hopefully hit the rollers.
So, unfortunately I won't have any numbers for this bad boy anytime soon. I'm due to stay in Japan for a year as it is right now.
So, if anyone needs some parts let me know, LOL!
In the meantime, the car is sitting in a buddies garage back home. There was no way I would be allowed to drive it out here with all the mods. I doubt I would have passed the Japanese inspection, LOL.
