Any CGT"s at the track? That would be pretty cool.

So True.
Hopefully it is useful for others to hear that I've spent a year building a car that is too fast for me to simply get in a drive at the limit. I should have spent more time at the track with a less powerful, non high maintenance car. In hindsight Miller Motorpark was so easy to drive when I was living in Utah that it made me feel my driving and feel for the car was better than it was. The way the car is setup now I could flog it at Miller - because it's flat with lots of the same type of sweeping corner. Pacific Raceways has ups and downs with changing radius corners and crappy pavement. It is damn tricky and a touch of scary.
So on my drive home from work on Tuesday I found some construction near my house that I couldn't get around. They had it down to dirt with steep transitions to the pavement. I was hoping the splitter would clear it. It didn't. Anyone need some bull dozer work. Turns out if your splitter is strong enough to stand on you can also move dirt with it.
Some of the wicked fast cars out there. ZO6 on hoosiers and motons.
Lambo on Kumho slicks. Probably the fastest car there. Holy balls.
Red cars.
Lots of these guys.
Only one of these things.
This brake setup is SO Sweet. It's a big improvement over stock rotors and Ferodo DS2500's. Before I could feel the brakes torque drop off and soften a little - but I never had fade. With the Girodisc 2 piece rotors and Raybestos ST43's I had nothing but rock solid stopping power, and more than I could comfortably use. It made me realize in fact that I've got TONS of room left to pull the braking point later into the corners with much higher decel rates. Basically these brakes can now shut the car down way later and harder than I can drive them. Just like the power These pads are loud and squeaky as hell - I love them.
My vortex generator flew off my car going down the front straight. I figured it was toast. At the end of the session the tech lead brough it back to me in one piece. Guess it needs to be mounted with better stuff. OEM fail.
this was my first time running the 265 R1's on the wide track front end. I found the car really twitchy at speed. Any slight steering input and the car wanted to jump into the turn. This was a little scary at 100 mph plus on bumpy pavement. I'm going to lower the amount of toe-out in the front wheels. I also found that my left front tire is rubbing. It seems like my camber isn't even anymore. The rubbing tire has less camber and doesn't "tuck" into the well. I'll need to look into the camber and maybe a little more work to the fender.

APS bov my friend. Better drivability than even the OEM IX and holds boost like no other. After having a friends one on my car for a couple months its one of the best things I've put on.
Btw...Z06 and Lambo on slicks = holly grail. I seen a Z06 with 500whp, LG coils, and Hoosiers at PR and it ate everything up. Made Aerial atoms look like shopping carts.

Good shakedown jid2, sounds like your brakes are totally sorted now. It won't take much to get the other items sorted. Except for lots more seat time for the driver!
That Z06 and Lambo were at the last Proformance day, my goal was to drive a session without them lapping me after the inevitable initial let-by. Fail.

Is the Lambo really faster than the Z06? If so I'm pretty surprised, but the Z06 i probably a little tougher to drive. The Gallardo I drove was the easiest car to drive fast that I've ever driven.

Fixed a few things this weekend getting ready for the next track day in 2 weeks. For whatever reason my camber was off by .7 degrees on the front drivers side. This was creating the rubbing on the fender. I got that back in place. Then I had to touch up the front toe. The car was a little too nervous up front at high speed - so I put the toe at about zero to settle it down. Went for a test drive and it felt less twitchy.
Here it is strung up getting dialed in.
I also had some rubbing on the fender liners, wore some holes in them.
So I cut out the problem areas, and then made some brackets to position them deeper in the fenders. This should fix the issue.
I also pulled the rotors and pads, they look pretty much new, one track day hardly showed wear. My daily driver CRX dropped a cylinder, so I'll be daily driving the EVO for a while until I get a new commuter.

I re-mounted my vortex generator last night. I used more VHB tape than normal and made sure to clean everything with alcohol to prep. Hopefully it stays put. I also switched back to normal pump gas this morning. I'll run one or two tanks through, as the detergents in the gasoline help keep the engine free from gunk buildup (and the black gum found in some E85).
VIDEO from the track. This is about 70%, just driving the line. Braking points are early (not late), and rather mellow and I just idle through 5th gear on the front straight. The stock BOV also dropped the car from 28 psi of boost down to 24 psi probably 40-50 whp.

I was under the impression that E85 burns really clean. Didn't JohnBradley show pictures of how clean his motor was after running E85?

It does burn clean, but some stations have a gum additive that doesn't dissolve well in E85 and it precipitates out at the injectors. It results in this black crud forming on the injectors and the back of the valves. It dissolves in normal gasoline. I haven't pulled the injectors to see if my local E85 has the problem so I'm just running a tank or two of regular gas though the car every few months.

I'll have some faster laps as the summer progresses. I need to have the car fully sorted and then focus on getting it driven to max potential. Video never does justice to speed though.
