Ku Engineering intake manifold?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mitsu...spagenameZWDVW

Stumbled across this on ebay, never heard of it before...anyone have one or know anything about it?

"Ku" has too few characters for EvoM search criteria...

Wow, interesting philosophy..

I guess the strut bar I hand made is junk because it's not name brand....

I have been contemplating picking one up just to play with for a while. His auction for that piece has been showing up since about two months ago. I look at it occasionally mostly because I really like the look of that throttle body he offers with it (at an extra cost). The internal inlets to the runners look like they could use a little more work, but if it doesn't explode under high boost, It's probably better than stock. It would be interesting to see someone pick one up and try it out.

I am probably wrong, but doesn't it look like a Jun knock-off?

FYI, you can search the site through google using something like:
ku site:evolutionm.net

It doesn't look like anything good comes up, but you could try some modifiers like -Rick

In any case, something I didn't know was that Kyu is "nine" in japanese. You learn something new every day!

Looks like they are making their own site:

http://www.ku-engineering.net/default.aspx

I wonder about the quality. Looks like a couple casted pieces welded together.

personally, I wouldn't touch that manifold until someone can confirm the fit on our cars.

I noticed that too..

Especially in the picture that looks inside of the manifold.

I haven't looked at the auction in quite a while, but I remember when it first came out, it was set-up for DSM's and earlier EVO's...

Does he list fitment for 03's and up now?

Looks to me like the top half (plenum) is one casted piece and then the runners are a separate one. The casts don't look that good in the picture, the corners and stuff aren't very sharp. The price isn't THAT bad, so I wonder if it's really worth it.

It says it's for an Evo 4-9, so who knows. He's got 100% positive feedback, 411 transactions. His throttle bodies sure look nice, though.

The manifold looks to be an attempt at a JUN copy. The issue I see right off the bat (aside from possible fit and finish imperfections) is with the very short runners. I don't have enough photos to be certain, but it appears the runners are very short - shorter than anything else I've seen, and that isn't something I regard as a good thing.

There just isn't enough information to draw sound conclusions.

This is true....

One good way to find out though, is to pick one up...

I wonder if he would make a deal, I will prove it out, and if it works, I will pay for it. If it doesn't, I will send it back at my cost. In the mean time, he can keep a deposit..

I still really like the throttle body though...

Maybe someone can send him a note asking if he can make a OEM TB replacement for the EVO's, seeing as though we don't really have any options other than your typical ported 65mm. I did see somewhere else he had a TB that was Mitsu-specific that had a connection for the idle valve thingy... I would pick one up in a heartbeat if he had say a 70mm direct bolt in where all the sensors bolted into it.

AMS has a group buy on there VSR manifold. Spend a few $$ more and get whats proven to work.
You pay for it now or you will pay more later.
