Full race not port matched?????

so i just bought a Full race manifold because its supposedly the best of the best for a stock placement manifold. so when i got it in the mail, this is what i see

its not port matched and will create HELLA turbulance!!!!! so WTF? my megan will flow more air? so would this would be a loss in power for 5x the cost. so please give me your opinions.

if i decide to put it on, i will put at least a huge radius on it so it will not create turbulance.

maybe you did not get a full race one. maybe its just a lot of carbon deposits?
all i know is that nothing is better than full race.
got any other pics

a lot of carbon deposits? do u understand the pic? the opening to the manifold is smaller than the gasket resulting in the exhaust gas hitting the flange b4 it goes through the actual tubing. this will result in turblance and a significant loss in power. i did not pay a ****load to loss power. not only that but, the diameter is about the same size as the megan, but the Full Race is thicker tubing. less volumetric flow!! even more potential for a power loss.

im kinda pissed!!

thouse weld are definately full race
i dont know what to say
this manifold is proven to be the best out there. buschur tested this manifold to be the best out there
put it on and see how much more power you will make

You said PORT matched, but you're talking about it not being gasket matched. It's not supposed to be gasket-matched, because the ports on the head are no bigger, so it wouldn't make sense unless you ported the head, too. Did you put your gasket up against the head? Were the head ports really that big?

Have you put it on the dyno and compared it?

If you and everybody believes the Full-Race is one of the best, if not the best on the market maybe it works?

Through it on there, dyno it and have it make less power and then question it

Although I agree it probably isn't optimal, however the exhaust ports are much smaller than the gasket so your argument might not even be valid

ok sorry not port, but gasket. ok heres what i know....

1.i bought it used with 4000 miles on it
2.when i got it this is what i saw, the carbon was no where near close to the same dia. as the manifold
3. i have not put this on because of this.
4. the head has to be bigger then the manifold or else there wouldnt be that distinct carbon line around the manifold hole.

please someone if u can help me, post pics of a stock manifold with a gasket up to it. that would shead so much light. or a megan if u can. thanks a ton

Yes, but have you measured the size of your head ports and the size of the manifold ports? Have you also seen anywhere that they claimed to be gasket or port matched? I haven't.

The Buschur ported stock manifolds aren't port or gasket matched on the head side. They only gasket match on the mani-turbo and turbo-o2 flanges, because there's no benefit to hogging out on the head side of the mani with a stock head.

so ur saying that no manifolds are as big as the gasket? hum. then y is there so much carbon? i dont get it. also i didnt measure it but i saw a pic of a megan and it looks bigger.

ur saying there is no benifit but i have to disargee. if in fact the head is bigger and the exhaust is hitting the flange, there is turbulance. this will hinder power.

I didn't say there would be no benefit to it if the head ports were bigger. I was saying the head ports AREN'T bigger. I don't know why there's carbon, but there's carbon all over my stocker, too, but my head ports weren't any bigger.

I also didn't say that NO manifold has bigger ports on the manifold side. I was just saying that it wasn't abnormal for them NOT to be gasket-matched. The BR ported stocker has been proven to outperform the Megan, so I think you're putting way too much stock in how the Megan looks instead of how it performs...

well it actually looks better than what i posted. im going to try and measure the pic and use the ratio to measure mine.
