I also didn't say that NO manifold has bigger ports on the manifold side. I was just saying that it wasn't abnormal for them NOT to be gasket-matched. The BR ported stocker has been proven to outperform the Megan, so I think you're putting way too much stock in how the Megan looks instead of how it performs...
well david himself said the only manifold he would sugest instead of a stock ported was the Full Race, so i took his advice. in the long run, i think im going to improve on this manifold and put a healthy radius on there so the exhaust gas will not hit the flange like a wall.

Part of why it looks better is it's freshly ported and coated rather than used and dirty.

I find it interesting that your first reaction is that you can easily improve upon a $900 part that has been proven to be the best. My first reaction would be to find out exactly if it's a true Full Race manifold, and if so, find out why they did it that way instead of hogging out the ports. I think that would be a smarter approach than assuming you are a superior manifold designer.

Macro FTW.

When you are in Macro mode, a little tulip flower will display on the screen. Macro mode goes away when you shut off your camera.

never said i was, but as a mechaical engineer for the united states of america, i think i know when i see something that can be improved upon assuming this is the case.

and it is definitly a full race manifold. i got it from a company.

Being a mechanical engineer for the gov't certainly doesn't qualify you for anything compared to expert manifold designers who have done flow bench testing and have proven to make more power. There may, in fact, be a way to improve this one, but I still don't understand why your first thought wouldn't be to ask Full Race why it was designed that way.

You bought THAT dirty, old, used manifold "from a company"? I would still verify with Full Race while also asking about the purpose behind the design.

well taking Fluid in Dynamics does. and i cant ask Full race, its Sunday, they are closed. i will try and get a hold of them tomorrow.

and yes, the kid had Speed Element take everything off for him and sell it for him. so in fact, i paid the owner of speed element through paypal and he peronally told me on the phone the manifold was a full race and there was nothing wrong with it. so im taking his word.

Carbon always gets between the manifold and the head in the space that the gasket doesn't occupy. If you take the manifold off of your car, you will see the ring of carbon on the head too.

What's even more interesting is he trashes a part that has been independantly tested to be one of, if not the best available and he has absolutley no idea what he's talking about.

Taking "Fluid in Dynamics" does what? Qualifies you to look at a proven manifold and immediately say you know how to improve it? I don't know man...more than once in this thread you said the Megan was so much better because of the piping being thinner and the ports being larger, yet we all know the Megan is a piece of crap that makes less power and cracks. I would say that fact puts your assessment of this Full Race in question.

Again, you may end up being right that there is something wrong with this particular manifold, but I'd talk to the experts about it before flying off the handle with a crazy thread. Oh wait, too late...

It looks like there is a step between the flange and the tubing, but maybe that is just the picture.

Give it up. His posts clearly show he has no idea what he's talking about. Someone trade him their Megan header so he can have the higher flowing header.

Rofl Copter.

He was told by Dave Buschur that it was the best choice, do you not like america or something?
