You can't really tell by the pics..but it is split into 1/4's. I could pull it apart inot more pieces if I tried.
According to TRE and Shep the RS lsd IS really strong. Even David Buschur Runs an RS diff in his 9 second street Evo.

Hey Broeli, been awhile. Damn that sucks!! Seems like it might be a manufacturing defect. That's the first one I've seen to shatter like that.

I was standing right next to you when it happened. Not a loud bang or anything, I thought for sure it was something minor, and that nothing broke! WOW! That sucks. You reved it up, then it died, thought you simply stalled it. wierd. You can see me at your back door helping you "back up".

Yeah. I'm NOT happy to say the least. It had to be prefatigued or something before I put it in my car. Be careful buying used parts. This one looked just fine when I looked it over before putting it in.

Thanks for the help I think I would've had a good showing in the autox if I was at least given a chance I didn't get one pass in the autox OR drags. Good thing I trailered it to Indy. When I heard the big metal grinding noises I knew it was something significant broken. The crappy thing is...over the winter I installed this RS LSD because my stock open diff was destroyed racing this past October. I will have to find another new carrier for the diff also. My carrier was ruined last time as well.
I think the RS diff in general is a good strong diff. Not sure I want to spring the cash for a Quiafe.

Well he broke the first one after a good bit of abuse, and the second one was obviously doomed before he installed it. 800-1k for a new RS vs whatever the cost of the quaife is a big deciding factor for some.
If I was broeli I'd pick up a new one from TRE and call it a day.

Eli.....sorry to see this bro. Someone said your t-case grenaded. I was sitting in grid.
BTW---that's the back of my wife's head at the bottom of the pic wondering what is wrong. I'd recognize it anywhere!

I have a TC up at TRE right now. Not worked on yet, but the shell is there. Let me know if you need it. I bought a used '04 TC from here, and still going strong. Can I upgrade to the Quaiffe Diff with a stock TC? A good condition TC?
