Housing for the rear diff is 1100.00 from Mitsubishi.

No way am I putting in another open diff. At the very least I'm getting another RS diff. The main parts I'll need are a diff, the carrier that holds the diff, and probably both the stub/output shafts. The shafts could probably be reused if I have to though. They aren't too bad. The carrier is a little chewed up inside though..so I doubt it could even be repaired.

Sounds like someone needs a driver mod..

But really I broke my stock diff and put a Quaife in my car and destroyed my transfercase and transmission without hurting the diff. I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

How much would you pay for all of the RS parts accept the gears? I have one I was going to put a gear set form a open diff, but I also have a spare rs diff I could throw in my car. I also have a spare 05 open diff if it's any use to you.

I'm assuming you don't want to sell just the diff?

A local here with a low 12 second car just did the same thing to his ACD t-case. Diff exploded. cracked t-case in half. Bad part was in destroyed his 6speed tranny as well. He admits he revved to 6k and dumped the clutch. Car only had 11k on it. I guess you could say his was prestressed as well. Or that drivetrain parts do break on AWD cars on a hard launch.
