Thanks for the responses guys So it looks as though the PTE's are the way to go.
Where is the best place to purchase them from? What sizes do they come in?
And are they a direct drop in injector into the stock fuel rail?
Should I be upgrading the fuel rail and/or the fuel press. regulator?
Thanks!

I have heard lots of people raving about the injector dynamics injectors as of late, I do think they require a larger bushing in between the fuel rail though...

Tony includes everything you need when you purchase from him. Just give him a call and he will get you setup.

The resistor box in the evo does need to be removed so people know.

Any more opinions/advice guys?
Will I get better driveability/spray pattern with something smaller than a 1000cc?
I was leaning towards the PTE 880s...
Are the PTE and FIC's one hole? or twin hole? which ones are better - PTE or FIC?
Appreciate the help guys!

A whole bunch of us here are running the FIC 850's with our stock turbo IX's on pump gas and although they're capable of flowing way more fuel than we need they seem to be doing a good job even in the -10F Minnesota winter cold starts. We're around 1.3% IDC at idle with cams (900-1000 RPM) and seem to be generally peaking around 70% IDC during WOT at ~25psi. Let me know if you need help scaling them or setting the latencies.

The Denso/Greddy 720 c.c. injectors are too small for your proposed app.

I'm gonna be using pump gas (no E85 here in my state and don't think there will be for some time ). Usual bolt ons - Green/BBK, FMIC, full exh, cams, intake, maybe exh and intake manifolds, larger throttle body etc.
What are everyone's recommendations based on these mods?
Thanks for the help sparky!!

Nein! The stock rail and the stock FPR will suffice. There is no need whatsoever to upgrade either item for your level of mods. So, save your money.

Also, you did not list a fuel pump ugrade along with your mods. But, you will have to upgrade the pump as well. The WALBRO 255 lph pump is the standard drop-in replacement. It is relateively inexpensive albeit a bit noisier than the stock IX pump.[/i]

Yep already got a pump
So with those mods what injectors should I be upgrading to and which brand??
I've read injectors perform their best at around 80% IDC and the smaller the injector, the better the spray pattern.. So I'm kinda not sure whether to go larger (i.e. 1000cc) to save future stuffing around or go smaller for the supposed "performance benefits"..
I wanna know what PTE or FIC's compare like to Jap injectors like Power Enterprise etc.
Cheers for the help man.

I would do the FIC Bluemax series over any Denso injector, period.

Ted, the smallest BlueMax injector, for the Evo 8/9, listed on the FIC website is the 1250c.c. nozzle. Is this what you are recommending then? Are 1250's even controllable given the factory ECU.
