stvbreal....your the guy...your description the other day was just the same as I was experiencing....on deceleration in 3rd gear at 3500rpm it sounds like a bearing noise or a loose heat shield

stvbreal -

I found my trans problem when I noticed a whine while decelerating through 3000 rpm. It only did it when the car was well warmed up - about 30 minutes of driving. It hasn't seen over 5k - never broken in - now i'm afraid it's fragile.

Well damn. I thought it was because I wasn't used to the sound of 2 diffs, plus my last car was a Z06. ****, the car is still strong as hell. I posted a new topic last night saying I launched the car at 5k. Felt solid as hell, but still making the noise. Maaan, this sucks.

I'm still trying to figure out if the noise I am hearing is the same as what you guys are hearing. Mine just sounds more like a high RPM grinding noise, no whinning or whizzing, I think. Damnit ! ! I'm gonna get some audio after work and let you guys hear it if that's cool with ya'll.

Thats fine but the easiest way to tell is take it to the dealer to inspect the trans oil....he will put a magnet in the hole and presto....you will be able to visibly see you have a problem

Wait a sec. So the whining noise from the tranny means there's a problem? Dammnit. Now I'm pissed.
