Cam Install... Read this first.

I am posting this sticky in hopes that people will read it before installing cams.
You MUST bleed the lifters when installing any camshafts whether they are stock or aftermarket. Frankly I am tired of answering the "tapping noise" posts over and over.

For more information see this thread.

Drives: 09 MB C63 AMG, 07 VW GLI Turbo(DSG),06 Evo IX SE. 95 Eclipse GSX... Evos gone!

I haven't read the article but you are damn right. I took my car to a guy that has done many cams installations on the 4G63 engines and he is the one that showed me the procedure.
Indeed it makes a huge difference bleeding then, the diffrenece is having the taping noise or not having it at all..

Installed HKS 280s and Vishnu gears today. Bled the lifters as stated in this thread. Lifters clicked/ticked/whatever for like a minute then quit. Now she purrs like a kitten.

BIG thanks to:
EvoMoto - for the kickass install write up
Andrew @ Dyno4mance - Phone support for when I F'd it up.
TIMZCAT - for the info in this thread
My friend RIGGS - for the MAD HKS hookup.

Now, just gotta get the Xede w/SMART installed and drive down to Dyno4mance for the Supa-Tune.

when u have the cam bearing caps off and the cam out. do one by one, be careful when putting the rockers back on top, and double check when u put the new cam in that all the rockers are on the lifters.
