My E85 evo, Virtual Dyno #s vs. real Dyno #s
so i had the chance to do a pull with my car yesterday hooked up to Virtual Dyno. this is about 2 weeks after the real Dyno tune was done. the temperature was almost the same on both days. so here are the results.
car: 2005 Evo MR, Stock Turbo, Stock Cams
cobb intake
Works Downpipe
RRE test pipe
HKS carbon TI catback
TurboXS FMIC
ETS LICP
PTE 1000cc injectors
walbro 255 fuel pump
crushed IX DV
peak boost of 29psi
virtualdyno in DynoJet mode, 405hp/405tq
virtualdyno in Mustang dyno mode, 353hp/353tq
and the Dyno sheet from my tuning session at FFtec on the Mustang dyno, 355hp/350tq
only a 2WHP difference on virtual mustang and the real mustang! i do have 18" volks on the car now, and had stock BBS when the car was on the real Dyno

Virtual Dyno does seem to be scarily accurate compared to real dyno numbers... its surprising actually considering the variance of conditions since I doubt I have a truly flat/straight road in my entire state.

My experience was about the same:

VD and the real dyno were very close. If you load accurate data into VD and do solid pulls on level ground, it just works. As an engineer that is an argument I have always made. Given controlled conditions, deriving power and torque from pull data is just math.
But as some have noted, the 'purists' and fanboys always want to nay-say the software approach.

I have a question what's up with getting pistons for this setup and cams with 10-1 pistons can you make more power with the stock 8 turbo and can you use the stock head gasket even is the block is decked ? Just wondering if there wold be a noticable difference compaired to this setup ??
