My first tune at CBRD with the BBK Full

When my odometer was just shy of 60k, I knew it was time to do my service. I read the factory service manual and it also instructed me to install the following modifications :

BBK Full (not ported)
Precision 880 injectors
ETS 3.5" ic with Garrett Core
ETS v2 licp, short route uicp
Kelford 272's & FP beehives
Perrin Intake
Grimmspeed 3 port
Mil. Spec TB seals
o2 housing
3" tbe
93 Octane, Everything else is stock, no porting ect.

Chad did a baseline and then started working his magic and tweaking a few things. A few runs later we were dialed in. The best pull of the day was 396 whp and 341 wtq at a conservative 25.4 psi. The day ended with a solid 389 whp and 337 wtq at an even more conservative 24.9 psi. We were extremely happy with the numbers considering the mods. On the ride home after a quick blast, I realized that the numbers we did on the CBRD Mustang dyno was no joke. The car is unbelievable, let it rip in any gear, any rpm, you are planted in the seat. Keep in mind this is my first tune with modifications since I have owned the car so you can understand my excitement. Driveability is incredible, lag is non existant. The best part about the car is until you let it rip, it drives/sounds just like a stock car with a tbe which is exactly what I wanted. I do not use any of the fancy NLTS or anything like that, but when you grab a gear it is like a light switch, power comes back on instantly. The car is now exactly what I wanted from day one. Thanks Chad!

I can't imagine I will get tired at this power level but I know a few of you will ask. A few things that kept us from turning up the wick, and seeing what the turbo can do:

-Most likely the stock evo 9 dv is posing a problem, looking into getting an aps twin vent

-After the 396 whp run, we could smell a little burnt clutch, we are pushing the limits of what it can hold

-Definately head studs before we turn the boost up.

nice power for the mods and boost level. stock studs are pretty strong surprisingly. if you never cracked the seal on your head just leave them go.. i went 33psi with them for months on a fp red. is this your first car with over 300whp? i remember when i first felt 300whp it was an amazing experience. you will get used to your car tho and want more.. depends how young you are, but if you're older you'll most likely get used to it quicker.

great results...that is a buttload of power for cbrd dyno and pretty surprising to see that the stock clutch held even thru tuning. congrats and start saving up for an exedy

the stocker was smelly

some studs (for reassurance) and 30psi should really make an animal out of this thing!

those kelfords and the BBK are two great tastes that taste great together!

Thanks guys. That clutch did reek! This is my first car over 300 wheel and I love it. I have had mr2 turbo's but I also thought they were quick at 270 whp. I can't wait to drive home from work

This car is incredibly smooth and hauls the mail. Chad really worked his magic. I'm very impressed with this setup. This thing is the definition of street fun. Pick me up on the way home from work lol.
