CBRD 33R...492whp 93 octane...
This is a customer car that was shipped to us from Florida.
When it came here, it had an AEM, PT67 turbo, tilton clutch.. etc....
The customer got taken to the cleaners by someone down there, and the car just wasnt proper..
coilovers... sitting at stock rideheight.... alignment way off... 5 speed trans swapped from 6.... but not even built....
the Cold start was soooo bad it wouldnt run, and couple that with the tilton clutch, it was terrible to drive, and didnt make good boost until almost 5000rpm...
Our client stated "i wanted a fun street car, and they tried to build me a Drag car... please just make it fun to drive..."
So we dropped the AEM in favor of stock ecu... we dropped the pt67 in favor of our TAK33R turbo (non billet)... and we put an exedy twin push style in it...
we also adjusted the preload and ride height on the coilovers, had Shep build the trans, and aligned her to CBRD specs...
the results... she starts right up... and makes killer power...
here is the chart
Good power on pump, but unfortunately we were out of injector up top at 30psi...
this is stock intake manifold and throttle body... I think with larger injectors and more boost it would be good for 530whp.. like our time Attack car...
But, i had told our client it would make 440whp nicely and pick up alot of spool... which it did...20psi around 3800 rpm....
so anyway... just another post... food for thought!
and the car ships back to florida next week!
cheers
happy friday
CB

a few notes:
not sure what cams are in it.. but they arent lopey... and i BELIEVE its a BR 2.3 block... head has a little work.
motor is quiet on the logger, a little piston slap audibly.. which isn't typical for the 2.3's we run... but it did tune nicely...
this is a .63 5 bolt hotside shearer/buschur kit... with our billet wheel it would pick up a little spool and power... but the non billet is still working well!
cheers

Michael,
we have another 2.3 liter build (BR motor and head) with jun cams, hyper tune intake manifold, 3" tbody, BR fmic, and your manifold and downpipe...
it has one size up from our 33R on it.. and I expect that one on pump to make another 40whp over this one...
so it should be no slouch, with 530whp-ish on stock ecu in a street car...

Very interesting setup. That 2.3 really shines on these bigger turbos. My 3065 in comparison at 28-29 lbs, made 449 on the stock block with 64,000 miles at CBRD, but max boost wasnt achieved until 5500 or so.
Impressive indeed. Glad to see my old daily driver still ranks up there with these new builds.

Nice work... Next time try out the 12-tooth triggerdisc and keep the AEM, start ups are better than stock!

in my opinion, there is no need for the AEM on this car...
at this power level stock ecu works great, still emissions legal.... etc... and he can sell his aem and get some money back.. etc..
that being said, AEM is on our TA car

I wasnt stating for florida,
i was saying in general,
most of our cars are PA, MD, DE, NY... PA needs to be emissions legal.
plus again, many of us are proving that indeed we can make power on stock ecu, look at JESTR, DB/BR, etc...

Nice. Got any before dyno plots? Would be cool to compare. Looks like a fun/mean street car setup!

How many degrees of timing were you able to get out the top on pump gas and 30 psi? I'd love to see what that could do on E85.

Not here in WV!! Lights, Horn, Wipers...Thank you come again!
Stock ecu FTW IMO. I can't wait until the speed density issues are completly sorted for the stock ecu.
