416/433 TTP tuned Stage III Stock Turbo Evo VIII

JMill is no stranger to TTP. Having worked with his car in the past, it was but a matter of time before the mod bug bit him once again to take his 2005 Evo VIII to the next stage in stock turbo performance.

This time around to complement his prior installed cams, he opted to upgrade stock headbolt hardware to ARP standard headstuds to clamp the aluminum head onto the iron block to insure it stays put under high boost. He also decided to invest in a lower intercooler pipe and ETS 4" core FMIC we have tested to stellar results with every car we have tuned with one thus far. JMill also decided on the TTP-Engineering methanol injection system with custom data acquisition system and active safeguards in place.

In less than no time, despite our overbooked day, we had the ARPs in, the meth injection kit installed, the LICP and 4" ETS FMIC on and the full ZEITRONIX wideband system complete with 5bar map sensor to 60.3psi, EGT probe, boost cut solenoid, relays, altmaps system wired into the stock ECU and we were ready to do work on the dyno.

With our certifications in mobile electronics, we made quick work of our electronic safeguard innovations. Here is how we set it up:

Any time the meth injection is flowing, a signal is sent to the stock ECU allowing it to automatically upgrade mapping to more aggressive meth injection fueling and ignition timing tables. If at this time if the EGT exceeded 900*C or (IF BOOST>17PSI & TPS>70% & AFR>12.5AFR), then the spray on light would extinguish, the fault light would illuminate, the fault audible alarm would sound, the more aggressive meth injection fueling and ignition timing maps would fall back to pumpgas fuel and timing tables automatically and boost cut would initiate 11-13psi for our predetermined and programmed time period and resume back after this period had ended.

According to our testing, the safeguard worked as planned and within milliseconds the wastegate dumped open during our check of the system.

With pumpgas 93 alone, JMill's Evo was able to achieve 378whp/360tq and with the TTP-Engineering meth injection system active was able to acheive a tire shredding 416whp/433tq at high boost!

Here are the results:

This gives me hope, I didn't think a stock evo VIII turbo would make those numbers!

TTP has tuned stock turbo to 440whp on meth injection and 450whp on E85 on stock turbo before if you read some of their other threads. He has tuned mine to 526whp on E85 with the FPRed to 129mph in the quarter mile.

Nice results as always Scott. With all these good ETS 4inch results I think I'm gonna step it up to a 4inch.
