4 hours from Miami to TTP 550+whp beast from TTP!

Travis contacted us about his Evo VIII over the phone. Like many other Miami prospects, he heard tons and tons of positive feedback on our company specializing in the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. Travis had a plan to downgrade his AMS 37R kit to a PTE 6262.
The plan was to swap out to a ported intake manifold, MilSpec 65mm throttle body, and swap turbos with the 37R to a smaller 6262 in hopes to spool it up faster and have more fun on the streets.
Travis entrusted a local vendor to provide him with the right turbo for his application however once the turbo was taken off the car we found a critical flaw in the process he had planned.
AMS uses a 5 bolt Ford turbine housing .63 A/R with wastegate hole and the customer was sold a turbine housing with no wastegate hole. This unfortunately put a damper on his planning and had to stay overnight so it could be resolved. We called Precision and searched far and wide for the correct part number to no avail. Then we spoke to them about just drilling the WG hole. We determined this to be the best option for resolution and they provided the correct specs for the wastegate hole and we had it machined out.
You think all would be well? Well, not exactly... We tried the .63 hotside on the car and it experienced boost creep. We spoke to Eric Gaudi @ AMS and he was very helpful in discussing their product turbokit with us. Unfortunately after we tuned the AEM, we noticed a that it appeared that the second fuel pump was not turning on, and the boost was creeping up after 6000rpms.
We called AMS and explained the circumstance and expressed that the .63 just appears to be a very small hotside for such a large turbo such as the 6262. They stated that the standard PTE housing could work in certain turbo applications but NOT for a 6262 as it was just too large to keep the boost from creeping.
Eric kindly informed us that the .63 from AMS really isn't a .63 A/R at all since they port them HEAVILY before they are put together in the kits, the wastegate hole is enlarged about 3/8th of an inch, the turbine housing porting is tailored to direct combustion gases toward the wastegate hole and there was just no way the standard off the shelf .63 T3 turbine housing was going to work.
Well with what we were provided with and prior to speaking with AMS the turbo was already installed. So we ran with what we had and tuned the AEM to have a boost limit for the time being until we Travis had the turbine housing ported out so it would work with his setup.
On pump gas the car peaked at 555whp on 93 before fuel cut was enabled. Once the porting is done, Travis plans on getting the twin pump setup rewired and retuned on reliable boost control with a ported wastegate.
Moral of the story, you cannot use an off the shelf T3 .63 A/R housing with a 6262 regardless of what the vendor that sold it to you tells you. In AMS kits, they heavily modify and port the housing and wastegate outlet to get it to work correctly.
Here are the numbers:

Yep, they all seem to come from the same place though a little south of us here.
Anyhow, my mistake... The car was worked on and I think bought from Miami but now resides in Saint Petersburg I believe. It had a billet designs fuel rail and they are down south.

Until you provide that proof, any additional unaccounted for statements will result in infraction points. Our rules ask that accusations carry the burden of fact. If you have such info, then let's hear it (via PM). Otherwise this is your last warning. Thanks.

Darin is not an employee of any company he is a freelance AEM tuner that does work for a few CFL corporations. He fills in from time to time to work with us on standalone ECU's to speed the process. Travis's car was tuned by TTP-Engineering, LLC.
If we were not backlogged by the wrong part being sold to the customer that threw off our schedule for the rest of the week, I would have tuned it myself as I have others in the past.
"Scott the mechanic" was busy trying to catch up on the next car in line we were set back on due to the hotside ordeal and it made for a more efficient process to move onto the next big build we were set a half day behind on.

I dont understand what all the beef is over...did I miss something? C'mon fellas, we're all here for the same thing. It's pretty petty to ruin a post and to take it wayyy off topic to discuss where somebody is from...who cares! All he did was make a mistake in mentioning where the customer was from and above all....who cares where he was from. TTP provides a service just like all the before mentioned tuning shops and thats who the customer decided to perform the work. Furthermore, if the customer is happy with the results and witnessed the shop going out their way to give him what he wants, what difference does it make who tuned it while at the shop?! Pretty pitty to whom ever started this.

I've never seen so many other vendors try and enter another vendor's thread and derail it.
Darin is a buddy of mine, I know him both inside the confines of our working environment and on a personal level. Please take your gamesmanship elsewhere or feel free to use the "ignore user" function of the site.
